How do you feel about flesh-colored toys?

I totally agree, It definitely is not the color of the toy that sends me into shivvers. The things that matter most to me are how the toy is made, the feel of the item, and the quality of the vibrator if the product has one. These are the factors that I look for in reviews and in my purchase. Right now I think if you looked in my toy closet you'd find a rainbow of fun! Peach, pink, baby blue, purple, green, yellow, red, etc...

I only want 'flesh' colored dildos (like the Cyberskin cinnamon cybercock). I am a male and am married. My fetish is MFM 3somes, so I want a dildo that is realistic when it is "my" night. The visuals with a realistic one just turn me on! I am on the hunt for that perfect other cock for our trio within marriage. I like dark brown or something similar. The light ones and pastel colors and other bright ones just turn me off!

I really don't like the flesh-tones. Mostly because they don't look remotely flesh-toned to me. Also because without my glasses on, they occasionally look like amputated body part (or cat barf) laying on the floor.

Right now I just have colorful toys. I never had a toy before this BF, who was amazed so went out to buy me one:} We use it for role playing(which has always been a fantasy) and when we are playing/ pegging, I would like it to look as real as possible. Make any sense?

I don't like flesh colored or "realistic" looking toys at all. For one thing, it's really rare that they don't look circumcised, and after being with my boyfriend for 4+ years, a circumcised penis just doesn't look right to me. For another, they look like detached body parts and creep me out. Anyone else remember the song "Detachable Penis"? Funny song, but not hot.

I might buy a flesh-colored toy if absolutely everyone talked about how it was the best thing ever -- but I already have a huge, and growing, wishlist of toys that don't turn me off, so probably not.

I prefer colorful toys. I used to think the flesh colored are creepy, but since buying a strap-on (still very new to it), I realize that the fantasy goes much further with natural color. The problem that I come across, though, is that I cannot find a color to which I could happily say, "that is my penis!" The Caucasian tones are comically pale between my thighs, yet the caramels just don't quite match the, erm, drapes. I would be first in line with flesh coloring if I felt that I could truly identify with a shade.

I do not have a strong preference on color either way. I have a flesh colored dildo, and funky color vibes. I guess the way I see it is if you are going to get a realist dildo it might as well be flesh colored, but if you want a vibe it should be fun and funky

I actually don’t mind either or. But I do prefer the more colorful ones! It could be my artsy side coming out of me; but I just think that they are more eye catching and fun to look at, getting me more excited to use them!
As for as the flesh tone ones go, I do like them too. Good for the imagination I assume. but for me they're not as much fun as the colorful ones. Really though; As long as the toy gets the job done, I’m happy!

Yes, I agree angry faces would be a bit disturbing.. but I'd just growl at it and have it do its job!

Personally, I think that with all the flesh colored penises out there, why not get a fun colored toy? lol

I don't MIND them anymore but I just don't want veins. If I liked a toy enough and it was only offered in flesh colored it would not deter me like it used to.

I loved the Tantus O2 series in the their lovely pink, purple and blue, and wish they would come out with more non-realistic colors, even if the shapes are realistic.

Same here. The only toys my wife and I buy are realistic looking ones so that each of us can fantasize about MFM or FFM while using them. She does have a bright pink dildo that she uses sometimes. But, her big dildo that she enjoys the most looks realistic.

I don't really care about the color of my toy, moreso the material and the feel. I don't really enjoy the plastic feely toys because it doesn't feel as good as the jelly material which is a little closer to the texture of skin.

I tend to not buy toys that are realistic, but if I do buy something realistic, I try for a non-flesh color. Just not big on the whole "disembodied dick" thing.

I love realistic toys/color of toys and hope one day to own a gazilian but in my relationship my partner would not be at eaze with me usuing realistic type toys so for now I stick to the unrealistic fun colored type of toys.

I normally don't like realistic looking vibes or dildos, but I have seen some of the more realistic looking ones and thought they would be pretty cool to have...but then I think about my kids accidently opening my drawer and seeing a realistic looking severed penis and being traumatized for life. I would much rather then find a colorful drawer of toys...ok I'd rather them find nothing but if they HAD to find something I'd prefer it not to look real! (note to self: maybe I should just invest in a locking storage box and not worry about it!)

I understand why other people might want realistic flesh-toned toys, and they can be great for fantasy when they are high quality, but unfortunately flesh colored toys in general make me think of sleazy back alley sex shops. In contrast, bright colored toys make me think of "modern" and "hip" companies like Fun Factory and Lelo that are making innovative and durable toys out of body-safe materials. I guess in summary I tend to prefer bright colors, but you might be able to convince me to buy something flesh-toned if it was high quality.

Flesh colored toys creep me out. I don't think I could ever purchase one to use. I'd much prefer a pretty bright colored toy any day.

I don't mind flesh colored toys...but generally go for the colorful ones if I've got a choice. It's not so much that they creep me out, but I'd just rather have a nice rainbow array in my toybox then a mono-chromatic flesh colored set of blobs.

Just personal opinion but that is really the problem with flesh-colored toys for me - looking like detached phalli just chillin' out in my house. Not what I'm looking for to put me in the mood.

None of the poll choices really work for me. I want to try a little bit of everything, so wild colors are good, but then I also find the idea of the ultra-realistic disembodied penis incredibly hot. I just wouldn't want it to be the ONLY kind of toy I owned. How boring would that be?

I agree with this! I like flesh colored and realistic toys but for my own personal use I like having all the colors of the rainbow I'm missing yellow, though...

They don't bother me at all. I'm a little older than some of the members of EF, and years ago, most sex toys were only available in Caucasian "skin tone." Our first vibe was a middle toned, very realistic toy. It smelled like a shower curtain and fake strawberry scent, and I learned later this is an indication of phtalates, so we don't use it anymore. It was a nice size and shape, but I didn't like the dial on the bottom and My Man said the dial hurt him during DP, plus there is a small tear in the seam, so it is not used anymore.

Still, the weird smell of this realistic toy (because it's still wrapped in a handkerchief in our drawer, in the back.) turns me on. Go figure. It was the first experience we had ever had with sex toys, so we both have a fondness for it, despite it obvious flaws.

However, neither of us are bothered by the color. It's about the same color as My Man, so it worked for us.

The color of my dildos doesn't bother me. I like flesh, black, and pink most. I'm male.

I'm with you, EffinSara. They're just creepy and look like fucking aliens, especially the ones with pubic hair attached.
