Width is just as important as the length of the dildo. You should find out how much length and girth can your partner take, and get one that your partner's comfortable with. Make sure the dildo's length is slightly longer than what you have in mind, as approximately 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the dildo will be taken up by the harness.

I totally agree with Rossie. Especially if this will be the first time.

Ideal for what use? The women I know can use longer dildos anally than vaginally.

Longer is better, remember you don't HAVE to put the entire length in if your partner doesn't want the whole thing. But you have the option of long or short strokes if you have a long toy.

We both love long, but slender. Problem is, most toys are long and thick. Hard to find very slim toys for strap on's. We wish they would come up with a thinner Vac U Loc hub so thinner toys could be accommodated, since we like the system.

Anything more than about six and a half inches or so is uncomfortable, bordering on painful.

6 to 7" works well for us. Diameter, firmness, texture and shape are also important considerations for us.

My husband is well over 9 inches which can be painful at times. So, I prefer 7-8 inches.

I voted 6-7, just because that's the size of strap on. I'm familiar with it and like its size.
