i have never used anything like this aluminum or steel, what are some of the perks of it and why should i pick this over glass?

We like both glass and metal - metal is nice because you don't have to worry about dropping it and they heat up pretty easily under a little warm water.

Metal feels more luxurious, in a way. It's also heavier so it can put more pressure with less effort. And it holds temperature much better.
