My partner has requested cologne as a Christmas gift but refuses to accompany me on the search for a new scent. He doesn't normally wear it so he's not fussy or picky as to what it is, just as long as *I* like it, which is adorably thoughtful and mildly annoying.

I'm looking for something masculine and very erotic, sensual, dark. Something that whenever he wears it people will be thinking deliciously nefarious thoughts, only I get to act 'em out!

Does anyone have any suggestions? There are just SO many different types of scents out there, and I was hoping someone might have some personal experience they can inject to make this search a little bit easier!

Acqua Di Gio by Giorgia Armani is a wonderful and sexy smell to me. Almost anything will need to be tested on his skin though. Sometimes the chemicals in perfumes and colognes will smell amazing inside a bottle or on other people, but be awful on your own.

Another thing to consider is how heavy you prefer your scents. Most of the time I think people use entirely too much perfume or cologne and it smells awful. I prefer something that I can only smell faintly if you walk past me.

I don't know how helpful this will be but this site is like the EF of colognes/perfumes: there's a community and they do reviews. Sarahbear is totally right, though, about individual skin chemistry. Your guy will have to try it out for a few hours to see how the smell changes, etc.

Agreed here, Acqua Di Gio is a vry sexy scent!!!! But Sarahbear is right, it all depends on his body on how it will smell on him.
