Would you buy your mother a sex toy?

I've often been tempted, but then reality gets in the way. My mother is very shy, easily embarrassed, and isn't exactly what you would call "sex positive". She owns a freaking back massager that looks like a drugstore Hitachi knockoff and I am 99.8% sure that she uses it AS A BACK MASSAGER. If I got her something really nice and vibratey and told her what it was actually for? She'd probably tell me that I've been tainted by society and blah blah blah... more trouble than it's worth.

Sooo... I don't know what time mother's day is for most of you, but here in Australia it is coming up pretty quickly. I don't really know what my mum wants for mothers day, but I seem to get her something similar every year.

I've been thinking that if there was ever a gift she might actually have a great time with, it would be a great vibrator. As far as I know she doesn't use one. She's not internet savvy and I can't see her venturing into a sex shop. I can imagine mothers buying their teen daughters a vibe. But in general I've never had a relationship like that with my mum. I'm not meant to imagine my parents as sexual beings, am I? I don't even know if my dad would be happy about my mum getting a vibe, and he'd probably wonder where she'd got it, lol! Could open a whole tin of worms!

Still I can't help but think it is an awesome concept. A gift of a good vibe seems to be something just so much more, for so many reasons. I'm guessing whatever I get for her would have to be non-intimidating, luxury, pretty and discreet.

Depends on how "cool" your mom is!

Mine isn't. I have strongly considered buying my mother a "Faith" vibe (the pink ribbon breast cancer one) since her mother had breast cancer and a percentage goes to that cause. That way I can always laugh off what it is if it's awkward and maybe she'd be less embarrassed (ie teasing me) to recieve it, since it's for a good cause.

Maybe Faith would be a good first one for your mum?
