I try to get as many rechargeable toys as possible, but when I can't I try to avoid watch batteries and C-batteries. What's your favorite power source? Would you pay extra if the toy companies made a more expensive (but rechargeable) version of all of their toys?
I like them all! But the electrical Hitachi always does me right! Don't care for watch batteries tho' Do not have a rechargable one yet, looks like most enjoy that.
I'm all for rechargeable, because it often means completely waterproof. However, I live outside the US and have different type of wall sockets, so finding the right power converter is a bit difficult for me.
From what I've noticed over the last ten years of using vibrators on past girlfriends and my wife is that a toy that needs AAA batteries isn't normally worth bringing home. If you need a cheaper vibe go with something that needs AA batteries. If you have the money go with rechargeable. And if you need a lot of stimulation go with a plug in like the hitachi magic wand.

i think the hassle of cords is just that a hassle. batteries are convenient and the only think i have to worry about is masturbating

I like plug in toys. AA (2 or 4 of them) toys usually work pretty well. C batteries are actually pretty powerful. I only have one toy which requires C Batteries, but damn, it's strong.
Most rechargeable toys aren't strong enough for me. And those batteries in the rechargeable toys have a lifespan. (Like the one in your phone. Eventually its going to die on you.)
Most battery operated toys rarely get me off. I much prefer electricity! I need serious power.
I do wish Hitachi would make a battery powered equivalent for the Magic Wand.
The cord on the Wahl and the Hitachi does not really bother me. (But, I live in fear of a power outage. "How am I going to come?!") We use an extension cord so we can move.
My Man actually specializes in power supplies as an Electrical Engineer, and he says it would be virtually impossible to make a rechargeable toy as strong as the Hitachi or the Wahl in a rechargeable version. Witness all the reviews on the Wahl rechargeable, it's a good toy, but everyone who has the regular one says the power on the rechargeable isn't nearly as strong.
My Man could explain why. But, all of us would fall asleep. (Except maybe Tim, Kindred and maybe Vac and Eden C's woman.)

HA! Yea, I don't care how they work, as long as they work!
We have frequent power outages where we live. I dread an outage while we are having sex!!! My husband and I have been in talks about purchasing a generator recently. Again, I am all for a house generator, as long as it will run my Hitachi. (I am looking into your Wahl, too.)
I depend on extension cords and I really don't require a battery operated one, but I do think it would be fantastic to be able take it camping.
Well, I feel like I'm not really qualified to answer this poll, since I've only ever owned battery operated toys, but I have to say that of the ones I've owned, the ones that ran off of C batteries were always a disappointment.
If a toy comes in a rechargeable form, I'll definitely go for it. Sadly, at present, only one of my toys (the Alia) is rechargeable, and most of the others run on AA or AAA batteries. I seem to have the battery-gods smiling on me, though, as I'm often able to make the suckers last an awful long time. One of my cheapest vibes has lasted for 3 years on only one change (though that may have to do with the fact that I occasionally go for a month or two without using toys).
On a related note, I'm thinking of getting rechargeable batteries anyway. That way, all my vibes can (in a way) be rechargeable!
