I am starting to amass a small collection of corsets through EF and another site, but I only have one with a modesty panel. I rather like it, personally.

Would you prefer your corsets to have modesty panels? Why or why not?

I just don't like showing off my skin under a lacing is all. The modesty panel looks more polished.

The squished skin without one just isn't attractive to me, just painful-looking. D:

It's easy enough to make a "generic" one, though.

Personally I think the little bit of skin showing is a good look, but having a mix of corsets in different styles definitely makes sense!

I like seeing skin under the laces if I'm using it in the bedroom but if I wanted to wear it out on the town or something I certainly wouldn't want to show that much skin.

I'm ambivalent to them for where it laces up the back, but if there is also a front closure, they're a must-have there. I have a DreamGirl "corset" from a costume that fastens up the front with hooks, and there's a visible line of skin that stands out, especially since the corset is dark blue!

This exactly. I don't mind choosing when I use it, but I like having the option if I want it.

I like the modesty panels for wearing them out and also ones in the front under the hooks. As far as in the bedroom, it just depends on the corset and my mood.

Modesty panels don't detract from the sexiness, but lack of panel certainly adds to it.

I prefer them, it makes it easier to pass a corset off as a top if you're out in public and I like the way they look.
Plus if you have a gorgeous corset without one and you happen to gain weight for some reason, most likely the ends won't meet in the back any more.

I usually wear clothing under a corset, so I prefer being able to see the lacing. It's kinda sexy in my opinion.

As others have said, having the option is nice.

I haven't experienced too much of the squishing of skin thing at all so thats not really a concern. Just more about the type of look I'm aiming for. All about the details

When she goes to the trouble of putting on a corset, I'm not complaining about anything.

Modesty panel or no modesty panel...either way, I'm a happy camper.

I like modesty panels for ones i wear for costuming but in the bed room i could care less.

If you're doing any real corseting and not just wearing it as a pretty lingerie piece, then a liner is essential anyway and a modesty panel over that keeps everything looking nice and matched ^_^.
