Are you wearing the correct bra size?

Contributor: kitty1949 kitty1949
Over the past year and a half, I've lost 100 lbs. With that weight, I thought some of my boobs had gone, too. Turns out it was only my band size. Before my weight loss, I was wearing a 38DD. Once I lost weight, I began wearing a 38D. Some bras fit, some didn't, some just seemed weird. I got measured today and found out my correct size is a 34DD.

Anyone have a similar experience?

My wife is large 32 g/h depending on the style - wearing correct size is vital for her.

I think it's important to be wearing the correct size. I was wearing the wrong size for a while and the underwire in my bras kept poking out. I asked a sales lady in VS why and she said I was wearing the wrong cup size. Sure enough, I was too large for the current bra. Haven't had a single wire poke me since

I think I have the right size right now.. but to be honest, most of my bras are just handy downs.. haha. I really need to be sized!

The band size affects the cup size so thats why its so important to be wearing the right size to get the best support.
For example, if you go down a band size you'll have to go up a cup size to have same boobs fit in. A 34DD and 36DD do not just differ in band size but cup size as well. The 34DD will have the same cup size as a 36D but the bands are different.

I go and get measured to make sure my measurements are correct. And purchase bras. I just measured myself last night. I've been noticing my cups are floppy, not fitting to my chest well, and my breast are over flowing the cups. So, I figured I best remeasure. I just bought new bra about 3 months ago. Sure enough I need to go check and make sure that my measurements are right. And if they are I have to go see the Dr. There is no reason my breast should be growing like this. 3 months ago I was a 40-42 DDD, but this time I'm a 40-42 G. WTF? I don't understand my body. I'm thinking the Dr is going to take me off of my birth control. It's probably messing with my hormone levels.

I haven't been professionally fitted in a while, but my bras are still fitting so they're probably the right size.

Never been fitted, no place around here that does. By my measurements though I am wearing the correct size.

WOW that's a lot to be lugging around without proper support! I wear a 38DD and have been recently measured...also the bra fits without digging into my shoulders and riding up in the back. Ergo it's the correct size for me.

I have had HUGE boobs my entire grown up life. I currently wear a 38 DDD, and I NEED to wear the correct size otherwise my back hurts so badly.

I'm really flat-chested, so it's pretty hard to get my measurements wrong. I'm an a-cup for sure, and I usually choose between a 32 or 34 band by what's cheaper or available and then just change which of the hooks I wear it on.

I wasn't wearing the correct size for years. Just a year or two ago I found out about the proper way to measure for a bra and did it myself. Much to my surprise my cup size was larger and my band size smaller. I had been wearing 36C bras but I'm actually a 32-34DD, even after losing about 10-15 lbs. recently.
