What lingerie company should I choose--

---to purchase my first piece of lingerie from Eden from? I am a plus sized lady who is working on getting smaller. Right now, I probably wear an 18-20 and I have a fairly large chest. Despite my size, I want to wear something sexy in my bedroom! (Maybe out and about as well, underneath my ordinary clothing.) I work out at the gym about 3 times a week, sometimes 4, and I am watching my diet, so I hope to get smaller at a good pace.

I am looking for a company that makes quality products that will last reasonably well and fit me well, without costing the proverbial arm, leg, or firstborn child.

Which company do you think I should choose?

I would say Coquette. The quality is good and they usually have a range of sizes. Escante is pretty good but their sizing sometimes is sparse.

I'm working on toning my body as well. Good luck achieving your goal

Thanks for your answer, Deltalima. I like the look of Coquette. Glad to hear they are as high quality as they look.

Weight loss is going well. I found the right gym for me after a few tries and false starts, and now I actively look forward to workout time.

Good for you! That's so exciting to hear that you've found a place that you feel comfortable in, I have had issues with that in the past. Coquette is probably my favorite for babydolls which will fit you for some time as well. (Well as long as the boobs fit the rest could too). That's just something to keep in mind. I'm always nervous both my tummy because its the first place that shows when I gain weight so I like to wear babydolls.

Babydolls are probably a good, non-intimidating place for me to start. I think of them as lingerie with training wheels, because you can cover up problem areas. When I was a teenager and didn't have things like stretch marks (those were the days lol) I would go to Victoria's Secret or Fredericks of Hollywood. I still want to look like a million bucks, but I have come to realize that looking sexy is about feeling sexy, too. I won't move up to bustiers and other less forgiving pieces until I have dropped quite a bit of weight, and maybe toned some, too.

I wouldn't even consider lingerie for many years because I looked too much at the models in magazines and felt horribly dumpy by comparison. The whole industry left a bad taste in my mouth. Now I know a little more about the horrible things models have to do to themselves to look that good--and even then, the image that gets published is still airbrushed. Ick! Anyway,

I'm pretty small (size 2) so I don't know too much about sizing. However, I have purchased some stuff by Dreamgirl and Seven Til Midnight that had some odd sizing. They are generally cheaper than Coquette and Escante, and also Oh La La Cheri. Oh La La Cheri I think runs pretty true to size. I just received my first items from them and I love all 3 of them! The size small underwear I received had a 26" unstretched waist, so that's pretty good in terms of "average size."

I also recently received an Escante item that fits perfectly, very true to size, and is good quality (review to be up soon).

I would suggest checking out some of the highest ranked plus sized women on EF and see what their favorite pieces are.
