Today while doing some testing on Better sex essentials silicone lubricant I found this warning, "Do not use near open flame"...uh what? So I went out to the garage to test and sure enough it is flammable. I found that it did not take much to get it started and burned for quite sometime with some nasty white smoke.

Now I am not sure were I would use it next to a flame but some people do like candles by there bed so I thought I would mention it.

We have this lube! Guess it's a good thing we keep it in the shower!

There wasn't any flash, right? This means that you had to have the flame in contact with the lube, rather than something like gasoline where the vapors can catch fire.

BTW it's a bad idea to inhale the white smoke, since it would contain finely divided silica and silica is bad for your lungs.

No flash, and I know all to well about the smoke. I have been in the welding trade for many many years.

WOW. I've never noticed that on a lube bottle but I'll be double checking all of mine ASAP. Good to know!

Wow, I had no idea any lubes could do that.

I guess using candle wax is out of the question anywhere near this lube.

We don't use silicone lubes anyway, as more than half of our toys are silicone, and I'm not going to take a chance and destroy a beautiful, expensive toy. But, still, something to think about.

Yes you are, I did not smell any thing that would make me think it could be flammable so the pyro in me had to test.

I have sent a request in to do a video for Eden tube, I think that this is something that everybody should know/see. I will let you all know if/when it is done.

I still wouldn't take a chance with the wax. No, it isn't nearly as hot as a flame, but some lube on somebody's belly or breast, back or bottom or neck, a few drops of really hot wax......EAAGHGHGHGG, I'm on FIRE!

Yeah, probably not the best thing to try.
