Me and the man are starting some anal play and want a lube better suited to the occasion but it needs to be hypoallergenic, paraben & glycerin free because I have allergies.

you are comparing silicone lube with water based lube. Were a water based lube is lacking, any silicone lube works fine.
Best hypoallergenic silicone lube is Dr Love. The don't use "cyclos" ingredients on their lubes, cyclos can give allergies.
Safer and best hypoallergenic water based lube is Sliquid Natural Sassy, they seems to changed the preservative ingredient to Potassium Sorbate which is safer than any other cheap preservative you can find on lubricants.
Potassium Sorbate is FDA approved and is on GRAS list, so you can be sure about it's safety.
Paraben, DMDM Hydantoin, Laureth Surfate, PEG are not really good in the end.

We do have glass and steel toys, so I guess they would be okay to use with the Silicone lube, but we have great luck with the water lubes on those too...they are just very thick. The silicone is more runny..but smooth.
