I have read reviews and tried to decide which type of lube I should try and would appreciate advice from someone who uses these types of lube frequently and is knowledgable about them.

I haven't tried oil-based, but have had great success with silicone lube.

silicone is great because it never dries out. the only problem is that 1) you can't use it with silicone toys, and 2) it's hard to wash off of linen, towels, etc.

I haven't tried oil based lube, but my hubby and I really like silicone, specifically swiss navy for the shower.

Never used oil based, but silicone lube is our go-to lube. I would read reviews on both and maybe order some sample/smaller sizes to see which one you like best if you're still undecided.
