My wife and I want to experience anal sex and we thought we would start off by using a butt plug. I ordered a Tantus Flirt today from Eden Fantasy. I found discussions about k-y jelly as being a very poor choice. I see quite a varity of lubes at various drug store and I was wondering if any of these might be good to use as they are readily available and not have to be ordered.

K-Y is not that bad but it's rather thin. I've seen the Astroglide gel which isn't too bad but can get sticky. You could also check out the favorites on here, write them down, then go to your store and see if they have any.

Walmart around her has Wet products which aren't the best but I would say probably better than generic KY. KY actually has expanded their products a lot so I think you'd even be a step up if you stayed away from original.

A lube that's about the consistency of hair gel is best for anal play, so you're going to want a thicker gel. At my CVS I have seen Wet products, which may be a decent bet, as they are better than KY. If they have Wet Naturals (I've seen them at my CVS), go with that one, as it's glycerin-free and won't get sticky or contribute to yeast infections. I've also seen System Jo lubricants at my CVS as well, which are a very nice quality lubricant.

Just be sure to stay away from any silicone-based lubricant, as they aren't compatible with silicone toys. Many lubes found at drug stores don't say "silicone-based" on them; if it says "premium lubricant," then it is silicone-based and you'll want to avoid it for use on your plug.
