Which Lube? Help me decide please.

Rocky LaFemme Rocky LaFemme 10/24/2009

I and searching for the perfect lube right now I love toy fluid by fun factory but it is a little running sometimes. I just ordered Climax Bursts 2 Go and I can't wait for it to arrive. I am trying to get sample sizes of all the lubes I want to try but am having problems finding them. I hate buying a large bottle to throw it away and buying 10 $10 bottles adds up very quickly so. I really wish eden would create some best selling lube sample packs, had a selection of pillow size lubes to purchase or some type of of try a new bottle of lube a month program like jelly of the month but anyway.

I want to know...
Which of these are the best?
Which can you not live with or without?
Why or why not?
Which items did I leave off that I must take a look at?

Hi,

Just wanted to ask a few questions about which lubes you prefer.

With waterbased I like either Pink or Maximus, depending on what I'm doing and my mood. For silicone I've used WET Platnium but that was only kind I could get at the time, I need to try others.

If you want real think and goey for a waterbased one, try Maximus. Something thinner? Try Pink, however I don't know if it's as runny as the one you have tried. To me it's fairly decent.

I would recommend Maximus for a water based lube, it is a nice thick lube, that does not require frequent reapplication and a little goes a long way.

Out of what you picked and because you said that Toyfluid was a bit too runny, I would pick Pink Water. It's a little thicker than Toyfluid but not too much. Maximus is nice but it is pretty thick and can get a bit sticky.

My absolute favorite water based lube is not on your list but it's KamaSutra Love Liquid. It's thinner like Toyfluid but feels a lot like silicone lubes. And you only need just a tiny bit.

I have a sensitivity to parabens and some other unknown chemicals, so certain lubes are a bit uncomfortable.
Maximus would be great for anal if I could use it, since it's so thick, but it's painful to use. (Toyfluid is paraben free). I'm pretty happy with Probe Thick and Rich - it doesn't affect me at all. The one odd thing is the consistency - it's a bit stringy at first, but once you learn how to work with it that isn't a problem. While I haven't tried all paraben-free lubes, Probe T&R is my current favorite. (review on my blog at link).

If you like silicone lubes, I'd encourage you to take a look at System JO Anal. While not thick by Maximus standards, it is substantially thicker than the other silicone lubes I've seen, and works well. It's good stuff, and doesn't permanently bond with good silicone (Tantus/Fun Factory tested), although I'd keep it away from VixSkin/O2 just in case.
I don't use it on my silicone toys, though, because there's some wierd temporary thing that happens between it and silicone, but that wouldn't be an issue for non-silicone use or if you put a condom on the toy.

Isn't bodyfluid just as thin? I've only ever used a sample so cannot recall. Hydra is okay. Epiphora thinks it smells funny and I find it too thin. It also gets sticky while drying (but dries fine).

For a thicker (well maybe medium thickness because I don't want a gel) waterbased, I really like ID Glide but it's not perfect

I think Maximus is a great water based lube, but if you don't like parabens, then check out the Sliquid products. The Ride H2O is very thick and although it doesn't last as long as Maximus, I liked it better than Probe Thick and Rich.

That's funny, I have wanted to try Liquid Silk for a while now. I have heard rave reviews.

I am a HUGE System Jo fan for water based lubes. I haven't tried their silicone though, but highly recommend their water based for women brand.

I would recomend maximus since it is an all around agreeably good lube that can be used for many purposes. I go with different lubes for different things so its sort of hard to suggest one lube over the other so maximus is probably the best one to suggest.

I am now almost a total Maximus girl. To me it is in between thick and thin and it is water based. It also has a great plunger type dispenser and a little goes a long way. Also use ID Glide sometimes.
Since most of my toys are silicone, I don't even have silicone lube around at present.

Maximus is really good, but we have switched over to using Liquid Silk which Victoria and I both prefer.

I'm a big fan of silicone lubes. Most of the water based ones i've found (that are still around) are just too sticky.
I love the ID Millenium, totally awesomeful.

I don't normally use lube, because the only thing we had was Astroglide... yuck. It 'sploded in the plastic bag. I do use it for putting in a cup, but that's it.

I just got to try Maximus the other day with anal sex. Love. So much love. It was thick enough that I could coat him and myself with it, but thin enough to be slick. The pushy-plungy top thing was also good; I'm used to having a big mess from using lube, but there was none at all. We did have to re-apply it, but only because we had to wait a long wait for starting; once we got going in earnest there was no need to re-apply. Only thing I didn't like was locking the pusher; it made a bit of a mess then, but nothing that couldn't be handled.

Gun oil is sticky really quickly, adding water or additional lube does absolutely nothing to remedy the situation either. My husband actually had to stop and wash it off, leaving me to finish without him it sucked so bad. I use JO H2O, but it has parabens, so I really should switch to something else. I just hate hate hate trying to find lube I like.

My wife LOVES Doc Johnsons Anal Lube for everything (plus it's very inexpensive for the size of bottle). It's thick, yet doesn't get stringy, water based so it's condom compatible, tastless (unless you get the cherry flavor), and seems to last forever. If it gets a bit sticky or seems to be wearing off, doing a quick spit in the hand and rubbing it on the previously lubed area, it regains it's slick quality. I really enjoy Maximus, but it irritates her vaginal and anal areas sometimes.

Thanks for all of the help. I guess right now I am deciding between KamaSutra Love, Liquid Silk, and Maximus.

I really first want to find a quality waterbased because most of my toys are silicone and I don't want to think is this lube safe when I want to switch and get a new toy.
