Cornstarch w/ Maven sleeve?

I just got the Maven sleeve and it seemed to be dusted with cornstarch or something else white when it was in the package. I assumed it was to keep it soft on the outside, but I haven't heard anything about using cornstarch with elastomer. Just soap and water, right?

I have heard about cornstarch being used to dust some products like the fleshlight, I think to reduce the tackyness and keep it soft. A google search shows recommendations for doing so with silicone and cyberskin, but not specifically elastomer (although some industrial type sites suggest using cornstarch on elastomer..)

I think you should use cornstarch because otherwise, the material does get a little sticky after a while. I was wondering, tho, does anyone know if you can use oil lubes with elastomer?

The materials guide here on EF doesn't list oil based lubes as a compatible lubricant with Elastomer, so I wouldn't chance it. The oil might eat the elastomer or something.

I agree with DreamyLove. I think that elastomer is still a petroleum product (like plastic and rubber) so petroleum based oils are not going to be good for it. Plant based oils might be okay, but to be on the safe side, stick with water or silicone based.

As per this link, you can use silicone or water based with elastomer.
