I have bad reactions to parabens sometimes, especially if used internally. This has parabens. That may be the cause.

never had a problem with any of the ingredients in any of the toys or lubes we have used over the many years we have been using them.

I agree with you. Your friend might have a bad reaction to the parabens in this particular lotion for men.

My dad hasn't had a problem with this but if you are allergic to an ingredient that's in here I wouldn't get it.
