Harness care for the flame kit

I did just get this yaaaay! anywho, I was wondering, for the harness itself, how should I clean it? Just do spot treaments, hand wash, or cold and gentle cycle in my washing machine?

I did even have a friend dare me to take it to the dry cleaners.

I couldn't find any info in any of the reviews or the Tantus website. This is my first harness, so I want to make sure I don't make a beginner's mistake with this.

Curious - did you just order it or has it arrived already? I suspect the packaging might have some cleaning info.

I'm not sure how one goes about cleaning velvet, so I can't really be too useful.

It's already arrived, and I checked the packaging and didn't see any care instructions for the harness, just for the dildo it came with.

That's a good idea, maybe I should do that.

Ooh, emailing Tantus is a great idea. Otherwise, I'd look around and see if you can find similar things that have cleaning instructions. They may not be specifically for your set but if they're made of the same material cleaning can't be much different.

Once you've got the answer, be sure to come back to this thread to post it---because even though I don't have this, I'm curious about how velvet should be cared for, and I'm sure lots of other people are too!

I did send them an e-mail just now. I hope to be hearing from them later today if not sometime next week.

I'm one of those weirdos who likes to clean everything before wearing them. I got in the habit doing it with clothes because I'm allergic to most of the dyes, so fresh off the rack and on my skin causes issues. I just wanted to make sure to avoid that with my harness for me or my lady. Plus, it just makes me feel better knowing that she or I are wearing something clean.

If you don't hear back, you can also post your question in the Tantus folder. Jenna is really good about responding. Good luck!

Hey all I got a reply from Tantus!

Hello Rebecca,

Thank you for your purchase of our Flame harness kit. We love Edenfantasys here at Tantus as well!

The harness itself is machine washable. The materials are mostly polyester and nylon, so a wash on the delicate cycle in a cold-to-warm wash works well, and it dries quickly with hang-drying. Please remember to remove the vibe from its pocket before throwing the harness in the machine!

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions.

Take care,

Melanie

Hey Wrecklesswords,

I care for my harness by throwing it in the wash (cold cycle.) Turns out good as new. This is my first harness as well. Also, you can wash the dong in soap and water (or you can dishwash, bleach, or boil it.) My methods of choice is to simply place the harness in the cold cycle and wash my dildo with soap and water.
