Pyrex glass, is it safe? Take a look here and find out.

Thanks for the great demonstration! I like how you are into finding out about how things work and don't work. As a glass lover, I deeply appreciated your sacrifice for the community. Can't wait for the next installment on the duribility of glass!

schwaltze and wetone123, I do it all for the benefit of the community. If it helps folks feel better about using a certain type of toy, all is good.

Plus, it gives me something to do with toys I do not like or use.

I know, right? I must admit, I was a little bummed it broke but I did figure that one would break due to the size. I think I was even more surprised that the other one did NOT break, that was a pretty good 'THUD'.

Freaking awesome!

I'm surprised the Icicles was the one to break. I guess it was a little more fragile because of the size gradients it has.

I want to see more!

Thanks!

I am guess it has to do with mix of the glass being different and the shape as well. It may be how the toy was 'tempered' after molding or how it was cooled.

More is coming.

Update

Seems that Pipedream does not advertise their toys to be Pyrex, Pyrex is a brand name and they can not refer to it as such. Rather it is referred to as Borosilicate glass.

Thankfully, it still has most of the same properties as Pyrex.

Oh my gosh, Tim, how did I miss these til now? Your Pure Wand colliding with Gold Laced G story strikes fear into my heart too

I did once chip my first glass toy (the material was called "E-glass," it was from Adam&Eve) just by dropping it in the enamel-coated metal sink, about 4 inches. I've been so careful washing my beauties ever since.

My heart stopped for a second for sure. I have been extremely careful since then, glass gets washed separately from the stainless.

Thanks for watching.

Nice, I was impressed when my rainbow bliss was kicked off of my bed and flew across the room and hit the floor and had nothing wrong with it. I'm gonna have to get me one of those royal duets I think .
