I just recently had two toys that have melted....one that I paid 170.00 for that ive never git to use because it has melted in various places. I called the lady from pure romance and she doesnt know why they have melted....never had this to happen before

Near the beginning of Vixen Creations I was new to higher quality toys and mixed a few local toy store purchases in our toybox with the Vixen toys. They did indeed melt together.

Whilst I have only personally had an issue with one "silicone" toy in my history (which, I'll admit - I KNEW was a silicone composite type material and not pure silicone when I purchased it), having worked for numerous adult stores and the like, I've both seen and heard of some serious horror stories (and even took pix once because the damage was so terrible THE DAY AFTER the customer purchased the item!).

The ONLY instances where I've seen the issue, however, were US-based manufacturing companies. One claims that all of their toys are molded and poured here, the other does not, but both are in the top-10 known toy manufacturers worldwide. I will not publicly name them nor the products that I've seen it happen with - but if your toy is TOO jelly-like, is TOO clear, or is almost a foamy-texture but claims to be "silicone," chances are, it's a composite or mixed-medium toy with SOME percentage of silicone in it.

Pure, 100% silicones are mostly dense, flexible but not floppy, and smooth to the touch. If it's not, then... well... you know the rest.

Was searching for info on this subject after I pulled a Tenga 3D toy out of a drawer and saw it was completely melted on one side where it had been touching another silicone dildo which was unaffected. I have no idea what types of silcone these are but silicone toys can melt, I now have an example sitting on my desk. Mix and match at your own risk, I'll be keeping mine separated from now on.

Interesting, I guess I always bought into the myth as well. I'm not super careful with them, but try to keep them separated.

It's true, most silicone toys are good together. It's when you mix materials, and then, if there's any residual lubes possibly missed when cleaning, that you run into a problem.

It's silicone LUBES that make the silicone toys turn "mushy".
