I"m finding that if you can see thru the toy I don't like it much. (The exception being my Lucid Dreams toy but that's firmer than most jelly-ish toys)
I'd actually take a stinky rubber toy over most jelly, tpr, tpe, etc toys.
PVC smell and safety issues. After that in this order rubber, jelly, latex & so on. You should change this to the ones you like the most Silicone hands down.
I picked Jelly because of the smells. The one rubber toy I have doesn't smell nearly as bad as the Jelly toys I have. I have one Jelly toy I can't even keep near my other toys - even in a baggie because it stinks so much.
...and then there's the whole porosity issues with jelly, and rubber. But I really hate Jelly.
I really dislike jelly because it is such an unknown. I think more and more companies are moving away from the term jelly and are trying to use materials that are more clearly defined and safer, but some things will probably never change completely.

I hate jelly the most, but there are also a few materials that I just plain can't go near, so I suppose maybe I dislike them more. I still choose jelleeeeeeeeee

I assume you mean except glass. You can see through that.
Cyberskin - It's super porous and impossible to get clean. It attracts lint and hair and every particle it comes near and requires before and after care, special storage and cornstarch to keep it from getting this weird slimy texture that is more alien than realistic. It almost feels like it's...sweating. The texture is so soft that small particles actually become embedded in the surface and you have to pick them out! Ick Ick Ick! And, it's likely to contain phthalates which, for me, means it makes my vagina burn.
I don't even like to touch jelly toys, which just scream "chemical cocktail" so I chose that. But in reality it would be an equal race between that, Cyberskin (sanitary reasons), and anything that contains any latex (allergy reasons).
Wood! Splinters! Even if that's not a possibility, it's still something I get worried about. I have a beautiful wooden dildo that still skeeves me out about using in my wife.
I also have to say that pure, 100% silicone isn't always great. I have one toy - the cunter - in which it's perfect (although a lint trap) but in some other toys it's TOO hard and unyielding.
I love Cyberskin when it's in use, but it is a pain to look after. But it feels so 'real' it's worth it.
@Red Roulette--I also wonder about the wood. My mind tells me that there is no chance of splinters, but I wonder about it a few years down the road after frequent use.
Also, chalk me up as another who loves Cyberskin and feels that the trouble to maintain it is certainly worth the feel of it!!! My very favorite toy of all time is Cyberskin.
I vote jelly, obvious reasons.. I cant stand that they stay sticky no matter what you do. I actually love cyberskin, ur3, and futurotic... and have never been able to tear one apart with my hands with the exception of a sleeve that I got for free and any sleeve of almost any material can be torn with your hands... For what its worth on a Cyberskin toy that was too flaccid for use a friend and I dissected it and it was actually extremely difficult to cut through.. but.. The problem with realistics is they are so unpredictable. Some are too flaccid some arent. Some 'ooze' and some dont (I've never had one do that.. for what its worth, its a quality of a certain type of silicone that has been 'slacked' to make it softer.. its not actually poison or anything. the same thing happens to realdolls).
But yeah, I love realistics. If I die I gotta say dying because I chose to fully enjoy my life within my legal rights to do so and have great orgasms along the way isn't such a bad way to go. so... eh.

Do you worry about a wooden salad bowl having splinters?
Do you worry about a wooden salad bowl having splinters?
You don't typically rub a salad bowl up against any mucous membranes...actually.. .you don't tend to rub a salad bowl against any membrane. You just eat out of them.
JELLY!!! For all of the above reasons PLUS it melts like crazy! I bought a little jelly cock ring to use a few times to see if it was something my partner and I enjoyed. I didn't want to invest a ton of money on something that we'd never use, after all. I made the mistake of putting it in with my silicone toys and the next time I went in my box it had totally vaporized and oozed all over the place
It kind of scared the crap out of me at the time because I didn't understand the deal about storing jelly toys. I also spent quite some time removing jelly-goo from my favorite fishnet stockings. Total bummer.
