Do Smartballs have any odor to them?

Contributor: DreamyLove DreamyLove
I've been going back and forth on whether or not to buy Fun Factory's Smartballs, simply because in my experience, toys that are elastomer or elastomed tend to smell like permanent marker no matter how well they're cleaned or how long I've had them.

Do Smartballs have this problem as well?

I've had my Smartballs for a few months now, and haven't noticed any strong smell.

I just went and double checked, and there is a slight scent if i hold them right up to my nose, but nothing strong or noticeable otherwise.

Now, I'm curious, (and in a library) but I've never noticed with mine.

New Smart Balls have come out that are 100% silicone for reals: see them here. So I'd say either get those or get the Luna Beads instead. I know that doesn't answer your question, but it's something to consider. I only have the Luna Beads. Love them though.

I'm with Epiphora on the new silicone smart balls, but I have to say that I never noticed any odor with my 1st gen. smart balls.
