I consider nice packaging to be merely a bonus. The toy itself is what matters.

I do love nice packaging that I can reuse but it's not a decision maker for me

The only time packaging matters for me is for glass toys, because I like to have something on-hand to store them in to keep them from scratching. So I prefer Phallix, Xhale, Don Wands, and SSA glass over something like Icicles which comes in foam.

Other than that, I usually throw packaging away, so it's not really a concern.

Well, storable packing can be nice. Like for the Metal Worx stuff... okay, maybe sometimes

No, it just ends up in the trash. I'm more concerned about the actual item.

No, I never buy because of the packaging.

It can, but I had to REALLY want the toy if the packaging made me decide to get it, because I never justify buying something I won't like for pretty packaging, unless it is cereal and I am 10 and want the PowerPuff Girls box

the toy is what is really important, but nice packaging makes it seem like more care went into the toy. It seems to be an indicator of quality to an extent

Nope. Good packaging is just a bonus.

Not at all. I am more drawn to bright colored toys, but the package is not what I am buying or using so it's not something I care about. However, if I'm going to pay $100 for a dang toy, I do expect some class and discretion with the packaging!

GONE! GONE!
It does make me a little more inclined to get it but not by much.

I generally buy my toys online. I don't know what the packaging looks like until it actually arrives in the mail.

The packaging had never effected my decision to buy something, but once or twice my opinion of the company/toy has been effected by it once it arrived. Eco-friendly and easy-to-open packaging are awesome!

If it's something I can't decide on, luxury packaging might push me over the edge into getting it.

I agree, thats the only time it alters my opinion is when I already can't choose!

The toy is more important. A nice package is just extra on top.

It happened once for a Pirates necklace vibrator.
It happens a lot for non-toys, ie. lubes or body care items.

I'd like to say no, but I think it's very hard to know how much aesthetic actually influences us when shopping.

If the packaging is just incredibly beautiful, the artist in me can't say no to good design, BUT if I don't want the toy or it's too expensive I won't get it. Funny packaging always gets me too, I'll buy a crappy cheap thing if the packaging is super funny.

Nope but if there are a lot of naked girls on it I usually toss the packaging as soon as possible.

I tend to buy it if it advertises the use of the product better than just the toy alone

If I'm in a store then without a doubt, even subconsciously, cheep packaging makes the toy look cheep. Online it doesn't matter quite as much but its a big plus if I can keep the package and use it for storage.

Only if the toy comes with a storage bag do I consider packaging. All of the boxes, no matter how pretty they are, will go into the trash.
