Similar to the Fantasy Bondage Tape (which I've not tried) I enjoyed the Pleasure Tape for light bondage.

It's sad I own all of those. Anyways, out of those, my favorite is the Japanese bondage rope, but that's because I know how to do rope bondage. If you don't, you might want to pick up some of the rope bondage books here on EF.

If you want some easier bondage fun, the Bondage Tape works amazingly well.

We love the Japanese bondage ropes so much, that we bought a second one. You can't go wrong with that. Also Ef has some books on how to use them.

I also think the tape is pretty interesting. And may, someday, buy it to try it out.

we use the sportsheets cuffs. but would love to get some japanese bondage ropes some day soon. does anyone know if they come with some instructions on knot tying.

I have the bondage tape. It's great because there's no one way to use it and it sticks to itself so you don't have to worry about it pulling on the skin or hair. I can't say much about the ropes. The hog tie one might be better for beginners because it seems to be pre-shaped. If you're willing to get a book to learn how to tie the other ropes, they seem like they might be fun.

The rope gives you tons of ways to use it and many ideas too. I wuld go for the tape if not the ropes. I agree that since it sticks to you you wont have to worry about it falling off or your tying being too loose.

I really love the bondage tape and the japanese bondage rope. We have both in a variety of colours, and I would say they're the most used items in our box.

They come with a few instructions, yes. You can also check out Twisted Monk for some really helpful videos on different knots. We watch them all the time to learn new tricks.

Like a lot of the others that answered we do rope play but found that the quality of the bondage ropes you mention to not be as good as it should be. The bondage tape is a lot of fun, we keep a roll in the nightstand with a pair of EMT scissors (something that should be kept nearby for any type of non metal restraints, just in case. They're really inexpensive.) for quick fun. It's much faster to do breast binding and things of that nature with the tape.

I'd go for the plain old rope - LOTS of versatility, you can find tons of videos online showing you how to do bondage ties. Twisted Monk has some that I found useful as a beginner.

Bondage doesn't require a kit, hit up the hard wear store and find some nylon rope that you like the feel of. The best thing to get is a book or find a local group and take a class. If you can tie your shoes, you can learn rope bondage.

Go with the tape. The rope is a bit too advanced and you need to get a hang of tying things and so forth (not to mention safety) before going to that level.

My boyfriend got some generic rope at the hardware store(I'm not sure what type it is, I don't know that much about ropes) but it's thick and very comfortable even when I'm tied up for a long time. I love it!

The tape is easy to manipulate without having the working knowledge of a sailor. Otherwise, look for the Fetish Fantasy Series Light pink rope cuff set, which is an easy beginner set.

There are benefits to both. The tape is easier to use and works well, however after using it it takes time to put it back the way it was. With the rope, it takes a little time and practice to learn different knots and ties, however in the end, you will have endless possibilities and it's easier to reuse time and time again.
