The hook is not difficult to install but it has to be done correctly or the swing will fall. The hook can also not be taken out of the ceiling once installed.

If you just follow the instructions, pick the right spot (you need a stud), then your installation doesn't require any tools at all (besides a stud finder and a pencil to mark the spot) and takes all of 5 minutes.

Why can't you take it out of the ceiling once installed? I've been wanting to get one of these for a while, but I live in an apartment. The landlord isn't fussy about putting stuff up on the walls and ceilings (plus, the ceiling is already torn up pretty badly), but I'm planning to cover up the holes when I leave.

As I understand it isn't that it is physically impossible to remove (as i when you move out),but that installing and removing the eye-bolt repeatedly will weaken the wood that it is anchored in. I would assume the eye-bolt stripping out and everyone falling to the floor could be a mood killer. Removing it to patch the whole and end use should not be a problem.
