Storing all these toys

Contributor: Vegan Silk Vegan Silk
in the past year my toy collection has ballooned! Which is awesome, but the nightstand isn't quite enough space any more. The toy chests look nice but are SO expensive.

I've bought a caboodle type craft box and that fits some of them, but I will need a longer box if I buy bigger toys. (I'm wanting to get a rabbit again and those take up space.) And it only accommodates the most frequently used bondage stuff.

Also how do other people organize their bondage equipment? I now have a variety of tethers, cuffs, leashes, and ropes. they get jumbled and its always difficult to grab the one we're looking for. Plus they are all tangles in each other.

I'm hoping to get nice pretty leashes and collars. This will help the percent chance we'll grab a collar, but it would be nice to find specific ones!

I buy those $1-3 toy bins from Walmart. They are inexpensive, and last a very long time. I have a mostly glass collection, so it is important to store things carefully. I like to use padded drawstring bags to wrap the glass toys before I put them in the box.

My roommate bought a really snazzy, and very inexpensive wall mounted shelf set where she keeps her favorite toys on standby. They are also sold at walmart, target, and other popular stores for under $60 and are of high quality. There are smaller sets that are much cheaper but I can't find the link. Here is an example of the most expensive one:

To store bondange equipment such as whips, leashes, cuffs, etc. You can buy coat-hanger-style wall nubs/hooks. Install them in your closet or on your wall if you wish. These are as cheap as $3 per hook/nub.

I like the coat hanger wall idea. I even have some command strip hooks lying around. They might work, or at least give me an idea. Thanks!

Do you have kids in the house, or some other reason to keep the toys out of sight? We have kids, so we keep all the toys that are not going to get used that night in my gun safe. I have a big gun safe in the bedroom closet. I keep other things then just guns in it, because it is fire proof I keep important papers, pictures, passports, ect.. Things that would be a real hassle to try to replace in a timely manner. I also keep our sex toys in the safe. It keeps the kids eyes off of them.
You may not need a big safe like I have, but they do sell smaller cheap ones that would do the trick. (if you needed to keep them out of sight from guest or little ones.)

No little ones underfoot so it isn't much of an issue. Though I should probably get a safe for immunization records and such.
