Looking closely at the pictures, it seems like there's an indentation around the stimulator for the ring to fit into, which might make it more stable.

The fact that it's removable makes me a bit nervous as well. I can imagine that as it's used it would start loosening up a little, and "removable" would slowly transition into "falling out"
