UTI caused by metal cock ring or just lots of sex?

So my wife and I spent our anniversary out of town with no kids. So far, so good. We had sex multiple times a day for extended periods. So far, even better Unfortunately, my wife developed a UTI, which she almost never does, as soon as we got back. Only other unique factor was that I wore a heavy, steel cock ring (Gear Essentials Omega) almost every time we had sex. Normally it only comes out infrequently.

To avoid this happening in the future, I want to figure out the likely cause. So what say you? Do you think it was just the result of lots of extended sex? Do you think it was the steel hitting the urethra area? Or do you think it was the combination?

It is very rare that we have that much sex over that period of time. So I'm not too bothered if that's the culprit. However, I really enjoy using this ring and would hate to have to stop simply to avoid doing this to my wife again. Thanks.
