Oh, If Only I'd Waited...

So with the 25% off sale, I figured I'd get that BonBon I'd been eying forever. I really wanted the cherry red one, but it was out of stock so I went with the lime green instead. Now, with my BonBon already shipped and on its way to me, I see the red back in stock.

My response: "Oh, you son of a BIIIIIIITCH!!!"

Not that I don't like the green, mind you - it was my second choice anyway. Besides, I wanted green more than pink or purple (the other two that were in stock at the time). So I'm not really too upset. (Maybe Liberator ought to start offering replacement covers, haha!)

Hindsight's a bitch, as they say. Ever had this happen? Or something similar?

Hindsight's a bitch indeed. If I'd known the shipping charge was going to shoot up I would have made my peace with the purple Flip Ramp instead of waiting for the black. Be happy you ordered the lime, it probably saved you money.

Btw, Liberator does offer replacement covers for some of their shapes. Given time I'm sure they'll start offering them for the BonBon.

The sale's still going on for one more day - that's why I was so annoyed. But yeah, since I didn't know when the red would be back in stock, I guess ordering my second choice in the meantime was wisest.

Thanks for the link, though. I'll keep an eye out for BonBon covers. It'd be neat to be able to switch between them! (Or sew them together and make CHRISTMAS BONBON!!!)

This has happened to me multiple times. Either I make an order and have to leave out something I wanted that wasn't in stock for a while, or I make another color choice. Usually the day or 2 after I make the order (or after I get it) the one I originally wanted comes back in stock. That's just the way things work sometimes

Yeah, very true. In some cases, I've found that waiting for something to come back in stock keeps me from spending as much, but it doesn't always work. And sales can make it so tempting to just go ahead and get it cheap!

Put in a support ticket. Sometimes, they're willing to exchange it. Especially if it hasn't been used. Can't hurt to ask. Worst they can do is say "no"

Oh definitely. I thought the Pikilo was never going to be restocked here (if I remember right, you couldn't set an alert for when it was back in stock---which is often code for "never coming back"), and nobody else in the USA stocks it. It had been out of stock on Eden for 7 months.

So I ordered it from the manufacturer in Germany. Shipping took sooo long... and I received my package, and then *3 days later,* lo and behold, it was back in stock at Eden!

On the bright side, at least all the people who were converted thanks to my review could get it from Eden instead of having to have it shipped from Germany.

I thought about that. When you get down to it, though, it's not a humongous deal. More than anything I'm excited to have a BonBon in the first place, and like I said I do still really like the lime. Thanks anyway.

That is why if there is a color that is sold out of a product I want, I send in a support ticket before buying. I ask how long it will be before it is back in stock, and decide if it is worth waiting. Sometimes they are a little off with their approximations, but it is still a good thing to check if you are in love with a color.

UPDATE: Well, it arrived today, and I gotta say... I have no regrets about the color now that I've seen it in person - it's really pretty! Plus it blends into my room much better. I normally favor blue and green, so much of my decor and knickknacks are these colors. The red, though pretty, would have been more conspicuous, which I didn't think about before now.

So, serendipity smiled on me once again. It's always nice when you can get a boost like that.
