First Toy Recommendation

Contributor: Mr Weasel Mr Weasel
All:

New to Eden Fantasys and adult toys. My wife and I were looking for something to spice up our routine and explore how ways to help her reach orgasm quicker. We thought some adult toys would be helpful, but want to make sure we purchase something we can use as a couple (for my wife, but using it as part of our lovemaking).

Are there any suggestions in a first time toy? I signed up for the newsletter and have the free bullet coming to us. But we wanted something a bit more personal.

I was looking at three toys in particular:

Evolved Roulette G-spot Vibrator (silicone, forget the name of it but it is on sale)
A glass dildo
A wooden dildo

Whichever one (or two that we purchase) I need to make sure that we can use the toy without lubricant - just from my wife's arousal. She has issues if we use lubricants or deoderant soaps, prone to yeast infections.

The vibrator seems like a good choice since it can stimulate her clitoris as well as g-spot.

Is it possible to use any of these toys without lube, once my wife is ready?

Also, any suggestions on a first time cock ring? I'd like to try that out and see if it makes a difference.

Open to suggestions and opinions.

Thanks.

Hi, there! So happy to hear that yet another couple is open to exploring toys.

Let's tackle the lubricant issue first. Lubes have drastically changed since their first inception. Sliquid makes an incredible line of all natural, 100% vegan products that do not contain the chemicals responsible for vaginal irritation and/or infection. My personal favorite is Sliquid Sea, but I also like Sliquid Booty. Both can be found here at Eden. And are completely worth the price.

As far as wooden or glass dildos go, while they are wonderful products they might be something your wife would want to work up to as they are very rigid and takes some getting used to. I suggest trying out the bullet and seeing how much she likes that kind of vibration and then go from there. The Roulette is a pretty good choice, but she could also try the Doc Johnson Velvet Touch or the Nexus G-play for continual stimulation.

If she's prone to infection, then sticking with glass, wood, silicone or plastic would be best material-wise. If she wants to try something other than those materials, I would recommend using a condom with them.

You might look into lubes that do not contain glycerin or parabens, seems those two ingredients have a lot to do with UTI's.

Most insertable toys can be used without lube as long as the wife can produce enough on her own. Glass, wood and stainless will be the slickest but silicone will work too.

Since you have not use a cock ring before, you might look into some of the one time use rings first. Most of them are under $10 and you can just toss them away after, although some you can get more than one use out of.
This one worked pretty good and it lasted for two sessions for us (About 40 minutes total). For a more long term ring, the Boss Cock ring is a good buy. It comes with extra batteries and the material is pretty good.

In case you don't know, a cock ring should only be worn for 20-30 minutes at a time. This prevents damage to the penis and blood vessels.

Hmm, all of the Roulette toys are very large on comparison to almost all other vibrators on here! Personally I would suggest the Seduction by Evolved or the Harmonia by Close2You; they're both thin and easy to use, but also waterproof. They both can hit the G stop nicely, but neither will get caught on her pubic bone. I hope I helped!

Well if your looking for something to use while you guys have sex I would say some type of Wireless Bullet for clitoral stimulation. When hubby & I use one of my many bulletts I can hit the big O in a matter of mins while we have sex. I get a crazy toe numbing bed sheet grabbing orgasam! Also you can look into the Tulip Wand it's great for G-spot & Clit stimulation as well, it's a good toy for a beginner & easy to move/hold/use during sex

Here are a few links, we have these and they are the most used during sex

Welcome to Eden Fantasys! Stormy and ToyTimeTime tackled the lube issue nicely! I used to have a lot of trouble with yeast infections/UTIs when I used lubricants, but not so with Sliquid. I love Sliquid Organics because it's non-irritating and doesn't contain glycerin, which can create a perfect environment for yeast infections.

I think a great first toy would be a vibrator, since you can experiment using it before or during sex. I've never tried the Evolved Roulette, but it looks nice!

You've gotten a lot of great advice on lubricant choices, but if you still decide on going without lubricant, I'd suggest a glass toy. I'm not someone who is naturally prone to lubricating, but I find it easy to take glass toys even when unaroused. They're the only ones in my collection that I find this true of.

Icicles no. 4 has a nice g-spotting hook and comes with a bullet that can be used with the glass or alone. It's also very reasonably priced.

Do the additives to the organics cause issues?

I looked at those, but I am concerned with the herbal extracts.

We've had issues in the past with deoderant soaps causing a stench after intercourse. We stopped using those soaps and it doesn't happen with ivory soap - so we are very conscious of what we use if it will end up coming in contact with her genitals.

Wouldn't extracts cause the same issues as deoderant soaps?

Thank you all for your input on this. Lots of good advice.

I want to make sure I am not over doing it. How many toys are too much for a first time purchase? I was thinking of selecting a traditional vibrator, a g-spot vibrator and a bullet. That should give us enough variety to experiment with, but I also don't want to over do it or overwhelm my wife.

Let me know if I should tone it down a bit and just select two. Lots of hard choices.

Thanks in advance.

Mornin' Mr. Weasel!

First, if you're talking about it with your wife, all three new toys in the same purchase (even if you don't bring them out in the same first session) should be just fine. On the other hand, if this is mostly your idea and you're hoping to help the wife warm up to it, start off with a traditional vibe (that way you can use it as a pure clitoral stimulator if she likes that, and if she doesn't, it can be used as a dildo (just leave the vibes off!) Based on her reaction (whether she prefers it clitorally or internally) you can decide whether you want to add some bullets (for use during PIV sex), or some dildos, or some more traditional vibes.

Now, on the lube issue, I know a lot of people have already given their thoughts. But I wanted to add mine too, because I'm almost exactly the same as your wife. I used to think I hated lubricant because it always gave me an infection, or it smelled weird... so I was definitely hesitant to try any new ones. Luckily, thanks to P'Gell, I have now found Sliquid Ride, which is totally odorless and also completely infection-free! I haven't written a review yet, but here's a link to P'Gell's. link

So, after lots of hesitation, I finally found a lube I can use! BUT, if I was you, I wouldn't try to bring that in at the same time as all the other toys. With me, (before Sliquid Ride), if someone brought out lube I would cringe and ask if we couldn't do something else. It turned me off because of all the negative memories.

So until I had personally warmed up to the idea---I just stuck with toys that didn't need any lubricant. For me, this meant metal, glass, and wood. Some firm silicone is fine with just spit, but I haven't tried out the Evolved ones to know how draggy they are. (Another idea is to warm her up with something that doesn't need lube, like glass, and then once she's quite wet, work in the silicone.)

So for your first questions---I really love the Gold Laced G as a first glass toy, the Smooth S Shape as a wooden one (it's actually my favorite toy. I haven't reviewed it yet, but I did mention it in my Romp review). I do plan to get an Evolved Roulette in the future (I think I'm going to try Bet On Black), but I can vouch for the quality of the SinFive line personally (I have the Vuali, and it doesn't need any lube more than my own to insert).

I realize I wrote a lot here, but since your wife sounds really similar to me, I hope that helps!

I think it does help. I know we have to go with an H2O lube. I didn't knwo they were so expensive though.

We've talked about toys, but have hesitated or even cancelled orders in the past. I finally said to her lets make a purchase, I'll pick something out and we'll try it. She told me not to spend too much. I also asked what kind of stimulation she thought she liked most, clitoral, g-spot, two finger pressure vs. 3 or 4. She said she didn't know and also didn't seem to be aware I was using multiple fingers to stimulate her. I mean this in a good way, and not derogatory. Don't know how else to word it. :O

Previously, we had ordered the Fling wooden dildo, but cancelled it. Too much money. That was in the spring. So I'm putting my budget around $60 to play it safe.

After hearing everyone's recos, I am waffling between two orders:

A. Evolved Seduction (traditional), Evolved Speeding Bullet (clitoral), and the Evolved Sweet Embrace (G-spot) + a Sliquid or H2O lube

or

B. Evolved Roulette Croupier (G-spot & traditional use), Evolved Speeding Bullet (clitoral) + a Sliquid or H2O lube

Since we just had our third child, we'll need the lube. My wife is breast feeding and she's a bit dry. We haven't been cleared for sex yet, and haven't tried - but I found this out (was reminded) through conversation. I also don't want to overwhelm her or go over the top. I have a tendency to do that once I get in to something, like now with adult toys.

I also had some concern about the size of the Croupier and her current state, but I like what I see in this vibe - g-spot, flexible, full feeling, multi-use. Given that she didn't remember me using more than one or two fingers, size might not be an issue. After all, we have three kids. I'm just torn between the two solutions. I definitely think she'll like the bullet - we usually stimulate her clit to bring her to orgasm. Just don't know if one vibe or two other vibes is the better way.

Anyone's opinion out there on my options I've whittled down to? I'm sticking with the vibes since they will probably provide the most stimulation. Would like to us to try wood and/or glass at some point, but with the budget and the Evolved sale I can't pass up experimenting with battery power. I'm a bit of a gadget guy anyhow.

Let me know. I haven't placed the order yet.

For my two cents, I'd take option B. The Roulette line looks really intriguing to me---and that way you've got a bullet and an insertable vibe. Especially because both of the vibrators in option A are hard plastic... I think I would choose either one squishy silicone and one hard plastic to see which she prefers, or just stick with the one silicone one and the one bullet for now.

Also, I don't know where you looked at the price for Ride, but the 4.2 oz size is just $11. Yeah, still more expensive than Astroglide, but we sensitive women can actually use it, so it's totally worth it! (And don't forget you can use any of our contributor codes to get 15% off! Mine is TYE , and since the Evolved things are on sale, add just the lube to your cart, and then apply the gift code, and finally add the Evolved sale items to your cart and they'll keep their sale price.)

And I would say, try just getting used to the lube with PIV sex, just you two, for a while first to get her used to the idea that it won't cause any problems. It took me a few uses to believe it!

I hope you two enjoy! Toys can really add a lot of intimacy to the bedroom, I hope you have a lot of fun together. And congratulations on the new arrival!

Here I have my video review for the Seduction which shows the size and volume, maybe it will help your decision? After reviewing tons of vibrators (100+ range) and dildos (glass) it's still my go-to insetrable toy!

All I can tell you is that we ordered the Croupier yesterday and I can hardly wait for it to come. I wanted to get a Roulette product after Gunsmoke's review of the red one but both my husband and I felt like the Croupier would be best for me.

My only concern for you and your wife is that it is 1 3/4" in diameter. I currently use 1 1/2" in diameter and it took me some "warming up" with foreplay, etc. to get to that point. Sometimes my husband would have to use his finger to help me stretch a bit before inserting the toys and even now, sometimes I am a bit sore at first when he tries to insert one and we have to start with the Butterfly kiss to get me started. It doesn't happen often - but it can happen.

By the way - this may be TMI - but we use the bullet on my clitoris and a Gspot vibrator most of the time during the height of our playtime. Usually I'll be on my side and grinding my hips and legs back and forth to maneuver them and then I'll wind up moving into the doggie position and grind them together. When that happens - wow. I mean literally - wow. I don't think we'll ever go back to one vibrator again.

Wow - that does look like a good vibrator. Unfortunately, I don't think its girthy enough for me now but I think it would be great for starters.

I went with my option B.

I did like the Seduction, and have it in my wish list. Perhaps that is something we will add later on - really liked the advice and review Ryuson!

I also liked the Tulip vibe that was recommended. Just didn't want to over do it with the vibes. She does like the wood dildos - we've looked at the Fling before.

I thought the combination of the bullet and the silicone vibe might be good to start. Girth? We've had three kids and she doesn't remember me using more than two fingers - so I thought it might not matter. Plus it is flexible and a little squishy looking, but still firm. I didn't know what would be more intimidating - a girthy vibe that is flexible or a hard, straight vibe that looks like a missle. After all, I will be using this on my wife - this isn't for solo use. I thought the flexibleness of the Croupier would be better.

Now, what to do when we get these...still a couple of weeks until we can have sex since the baby.

I am planning on introducing these to her on "the night" or "a night" we have sex, rather than before hand. I don't want any preconcieved notions. And this is a "gift" that we talked about. She just doesn't know what we are getting yet.

Can you still give her a clitoral orgasm without penetrative sex?

(I've never been pregnant / given birth / etc. so I have no idea how strict, or how broad, the 'no sex for a while after giving birth' guidelines are. I just know that whenever I've discussed this with friends who do have children, I've been quite sure that I would want to jump back on the wagon as soon as humanly possible! )

Well, I know how to, but we won't until we both can make love and satisfy each other. Part belief system, part commitment to each other.

After pregnancy, you don't want to be poking around down there anyhow. Giving vaginal birth is an athletic event. Things are still popping back in to shape.

It is funny you should as that question though. If things were normal, I'd mostly be giving her orgasms out side of vaginal sex. We have a hard time getting her there otherwise. Takes too long, sometimes an hour.
