I think the only way that I would want to get a sex toy as a gift is if my hubby put some thought into buying it... which I doubt he would do lol so I would rather buy it myself and know its what I want.
I've never received a toy as a gift and I feel like it'd probably be hard for someone to buy for me successfully unless they shopped something off my wishlist. I suppose it would be nice to be surprised but buying for myself is foolproof
Would you rather receive a sex toy as a gift or do you prefer to purchase your own toys?
It would depend on the gift if it was well thought out and my boyfriend knew I would like it..something from my wishlist or something obviovious like I woudn't mind or not like, for example more of a novelty item like the vibrator that looks like a cellphone or a glass toy or something for both of us but if It was some anal toy or lesbian porn I would be like WTF I wouldn't get angry just want to have a chat about I'd rather buy my own stuff and buy stuff for him tho or sit down and shop together and I buy from my accouht.
While I love presents (who doesn't?), I prefer to self purchase because I know what I like. I definitely wouldn't reject a gift though, especially if it was something off my wishlist. It it didn't work for me I'd pass it along to a friend.
I've had people buy me things that I've picked out. I don't think that's what the poll intended as a gift, though. I generally don't like surprise presents of any type because it shows me how much people don't know me. They're almost never good.
I'd like it if my guy bought stuff for both of us (lingerie, cuffs, etc.). And if he researched the materials/shape I'd appreciate a toy from him. I'd use anything he got me, but I prefer shopping for that kinda stuff myself.
As well-intentioned as the men if my life have been, most didn't know their way around toys. I definitely prefer to buy my own toys or to pick them out with a partner. I love getting cute toys from friends, and I've bought my fair share for my gal pals but, at the end of the day, my favorites are the ones I've done my reading-up on and purchased myself.
