Glass is a lot less scary than you'd think. Remember that these are thick, solid bars of pyrex.

For suggestions, I wouldn't go for something heavily textured or really thick the first time unless you know you like that. The unforgiving material makes texture and size stand out more.

I was afraid of glass before I used it and now my glass toy is one of my faves. If you are afraid of any shards or leavings (although I HIGHLY doubt it will be an issue), just run your hand over the entire product and clean it well before use. I have only heard of those breaking if they are dropped from a high place or put in situations that would never happen ON or IN your body. I can assure you that I feel my fear was totally unwarranted. I will say to take it easy if you're not used to products that are so firm. I bruised myself something terrible because I was bent in a way that it pushed against me hard. You'll figure out what feels best. Try to find something smooth or that has two sides with one smooth. Don't go crazy with size initially and try to stay away from anything pointy when it comes to shape. Good luck!

Go ahead and try the glass! You'll probably end up loving it!

For a beginner, I would recommend you go with something about 1/4" smaller in diameter than you'd normally use, and having little to no texture.

Something like Midnight Twist would be good (they've changed the design so it is now virtually completely smooth), or the Bent Graduate, or even the Gold Laced G. Those are all fairly easy on the wallet too.

You can also do a search for glass dildos, and then plug in all your requirements along the side.
