Hit or Miss?

Contributor: Gracie Gracie
Ok, I read all the reviews on a product before ordering, but still I'm finding I end up with some I love, some I hate and some that are just so so. What are your experiences? What are realistic expectations of hit vs miss?

I try to find people that usually like the same products as me or have the same body types! If someone that's curvy and short gives a dress two stars and someone who's tall and thin gives it five, I'll rely most on the first review because they are similar to myself. Similar things happen with toys.

I agree. body type does matter. but that also doens't larger women or smaller women have the same vagina/clit shape. I have found some rabbit vibrators that go way over my clit if i slide down all the way on them. others seem really short, and i have to work to reach. Just depends on the person, and their preferences.

Thanks for your responses. I guess it just takes time and experience. My fist order I got 2 things I liked and 2 that were okay. My next 2 orders I had 1 big hit, a few okay and one very expensive miss. I guess I'm still on the journey to find a good fit for me. I have an order arriving today and one tomorrow. Maybe "the one" is in there, maybe not. After this I'm going to go more slowly. My next big wish is for Mimi? I'm curious about other's experiences in what I'm calling "the great search". Please share. Are you on the great search?

Perhaps you can tell us which ones worked well for you and we can find out the similarities in them and help you.

Let me give some examples:

Type of tip: Do you prefer it to be shaped like the head of a penis (bulb shaped), or tipped like a traditional vibrator that comes to a point like a tube of lipstick or just rounded at the top?

Flexible or non-flexible?

Smooth or with bumps?

What diameters worked the best for you?

What type of vibrations do you like? Deep strong vibes or lighter buzzy type vibes? (If I hold a vibrator in my hand and my hand starts to tingle and almost fall asleep, I consider it a buzzy vibe but if I can feel it throb up my arm a bit then its a deeper vibration)

Well, the problem with reviews is that they are subjective. Before I buy something, I try to find reviews written by people that I know have the same requirements I do - strong vibrations, smaller diameter, smooth material. Sometimes that's not available though and I have to go off of who has posted reviews. I end up with some duds this way because what someone who needs mild vibrations may consider a four vroom, I'd likely consider a three. I can usually eye something up to see if the shape will work for me and I've gotten a lot better at reading measurements to see if the size will, but vibrations are an in person thing. Meaning, I can't look at a stock photo and tell if it's going to be strong enough.

With time, the shape and size will become easier and you won't have to rely on reviews as much to tell you if that will work for you.

I'm always in search of great vibrators. Even though I have many I love, I'm sure I'll find something I love just as much if not more. So I'm always in search of the next best one.

And yes, everyone should at least try Mimi!

When I do a post about vibrators, I try to include who I think the vibrator will be good for if I can. For instance, with quiet vibes I'll mention they might be good for someone in a dorm. For smaller vibes, I'll mention the size and how they might be used more than one way (ie - I did the micro-G opulent vibe review and mentioned how I used it like a little bullet since it was about the same length but a smaller girth).

I think its great when reviewers include their own preferences.

Also - I put a lot more weight on video reviews and how the item is shown.

What irritates me is how often I've seen videos of a vibrator - but they never turn the darn thing on! Come on - I wanna hear it and watch to see if I can SEE the vibrations.

Oh well - that's just me....I best get off here and work on my next three vibrator reviews - two are Rock Star Janis and Rock Star Tina.

Thank you for your kind offer of help. The things I have found lacking in most of what I have now: it has to be plugged in and is way too loud, is too weak, or quits at just the wrong time. I know I need strong deep vibrations. Two months ago I didn't know that about myself. Progress right?

Mostly I want to feel like I'm not alone in picking some duds and I'm curious how many hits you've personally found and how many duds?

I haven't used a ton of vibrators but for the deeper rumbly vibrations I love these two:

Of the two - Stevie (the second) probably gets the most workout but when I need a really deep vibrator - Opis is the first one that we will pull. The thing is - he's not as flexible as Stevie so I need a warm-up for him fairly often.

I will say if you want deep and rumbly definitely stay away from Rock Star Janis which I'm writing a review on. Its almost like Stevie is their rumbly version of a Gspot vibe and Janis is their buzzy version. Rock Star Tina is sorta middle of the road between the two and she's a traditional vibrator.

BTW - you do know that you can return items to Eden Fantasys if they don't work for you - right?
