I have one, and I love it but it's very situational. The Hitachi is good for "warming me up", basically. I use it to get nice and aroused, and then use other toys, or a dildo in conjunction with it. It's way too much for me to use alone, without it bugging me.

I used to love it until I got the couture collection inspire. Its just as strong but way smaller and doesn't weigh a ton. I used my inspire way more then I did my hitachi.

If you want something that's basically guaranteed to get you off, it's a good choice. It's my old standby, because I can always orgasm with it, even on days when other toys aren't working for me. Plus, it lasts for years, so I'd say it's worth the money.

I hate the Hitachi. It's huge, heavy, isn't water proof, too big to avoid vibrating my ENTIRE crotch, numbing, it overheats quickly, and is completely unsexy. I just don't get it. It's even annoying to clean. I'd prefer to use a thoughtfully designed silicone vibe, than a giant back massager, but all its flaws just don't seem to bother anyone, which is a phenomenon completely specific to the Hitachi.

Honestly, ladies, it's like buying a washing machine just because it gets you off.

I don't love it or hate it. But honestly I don't get the hype. It's no more powerful then any other massager I have come across. Trust me, I blow through massagers! I've owned the majority of them that are available here. Hitachi is just too big and bulky. the head can't focus on my clit and numbs my whole labia majora. I want focused vibrations on the one place it needs to be...the CLIT! Give me any massager over Hitachi any day.

Your wife is smart not to use it too much. I got the Hitachi several years ago and really like it, but now I want to try something else and the ones I've tried aren't strong enough. One was even rated 5 vrooms. Thank goodness for EF's return policy because the toys I bought were pretty expensive.
