Jimmyjane where you at???

So I've been looking into Jimmyjane more and more the past few months after all the hype finally got to me. The toy that seems to tickle my fancy the most would be the little chroma. The whole high quality, small, sleek, simple, quiet, waterproof, metal thing really gets me going. However, the sexiest version of the toy for me is the steel version *pictures it sitting innocently next to my mac, complemented by the brushed steel lamp on the bedside table*, which costs a whopping $195. Now, I'm okay with spending the money on a single toy, as long as it's the right toy. Trouble is, I've been to maybe 12 adult toy stores in three different cities around my state, NC, and not only did the majority of them not carry Jimmyjane toys, the only ones that did were adam and eve and although the chain carries a few of the toys, the specific stores did not. What's worse, some of the other stores had never even heard of Jimmyjane. And yeah, it took some effort to not exclaim "and you do this for a living?!?!" Anyways...

Not being able to see, touch, test/witness the vibration of the toys before hand is a big problem to me, especially when dealing with such expensive toys.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get my hands on any of their friggin products? I mean sheesh, I'd be willing to make a minitrip to a surrounding state for funzies at this point. SEX TOY ROADTRIP! I just have to lay my eyes on em, ya know? Sneaky little things... Has anyone else had the same experience with not being able to find them?

Or can anyone who owns a little chroma/little something offer a more specific comparison of power to some other more available and comparable toy? I've read all the reviews on this site as well as others. I just want something more like, "at the strongest point it feels similar in intensity to the (#) setting of (manufacturer)'s (toy name)." If that's at all possible...

Might I suggest sending one of the reviewers a message and asking them? I would bet Sam, Owl, Darling Jen or wetone123 (among others) would be happy to help. You may look to see what vibes they have to see if you happen to have them too, that would give you a better idea on the comparison.

JimmyJane is based in San Francisco and you can see their products displayed at many of the top-tier sex boutiques around the US. They have a list of retailers on their website.

I don't know for sure, but would the Liberator store in Atlanta a) stock them, and b) be close enough for you? Check out Liberator's website and see if the Little Chromas (etc) are stocked.

OK, so I've got a Little Chroma and some Lelo toys. I don't know if you have any of those to compare to either, but that's what I have on hand.

One of the things I LOVE about Lelo toys is that they have a measurement of each toy's "frequency" on their website, which translates to how "buzzy" or "thumpy" a toy is. I wish more manufacturers would do this. They list the Lily at 150 Hz, and I found that toy too buzzy for me. The Siri and Gigi are listed at 120 Hz, and those are my personal perfection. In terms of frequency, I would put the Little Chroma somewhere between the Lily and the Gigi, but closer to the Lily. Maybe 135-140 Hz? If someone knows of a way to scientifically measure this at home, I'd love to hear about it. I think the pitch might be the place to start. Anyway, the Little Chroma is not as thumpy as I'd ideally like, but it has not crossed my personal line of "too buzzy."

As for the power of the Little Chroma, it depends a lot on the battery. A fresh one will give you a vastly different experience than one that is half-drained. My Lelo toys keep going strong until the moment the battery unexpectedly dies (which, to their credit, is after many many hours). If you like it at the most intense setting, you're going to have to find something to do with half-drained batteries that are still useful but don't provide the intensity you were looking for. I, personally, prefer to use batteries in it that are not fully charged, because the fresh ones are a little too intense for me. But if you want a vibe that can start soft and then increase in intensity, you're going to have to swap a weak battery out for a stronger one or place a layer of clothing between your body and the vibe, and then remove it for more intensity.

With a fresh battery, the Little Chroma outperforms the Lily in intensity, no question. The Siri seems to be stronger on its highest setting, but perhaps not by much. It is difficult to tell because the frequency makes the sensations quite different. Obviously, none of these come anywhere close to a Hitachi.

I love my Little Chroma because it is waterproof and basic and easy to travel with and beautiful, but I would hate to have to make it my default vibe. If you're looking for a single clitoral vibe that does everything, you might try a different Jimmyjane toy (one of the "Form" models), something small from Fun Factory (Yooo, Spring, Angelo), or one of the new waterproof Lelo toys like the Alia, which seems from the website statistics to be identical to the Siri in frequency. They don't have the same sexy metallic look, but I think they outperform the Little Chroma in their basic functions. As sexy as the Little Chroma looks, the technology is a bit outdated at this point. Give me a rechargeable toy with adjustable settings any day!

(oh, and if you still want your steel vibe, sign up for Jimmyjane's mailing list. Occasionally they'll put them on sale for significantly cheaper than their original price.)

Another thing you could try: Call up Babeland or the Smitten Kitten and ask them this question. I'm pretty sure both places have Jimmyjane testers, as well as tester models for many other popular toys. You might not be able to drive there, but they would probably be happy to help you over the phone!

I hope this was somewhat helpful. Good luck on your vibrator hunt!

Wow, ohlookasquirrel, that was incredibly helpful! I had no idea Lelo had that information on their website. I was considering the Little Chroma, but now I'm leaning more towards the Siri. Somehow I didn't realize that the Little Chroma wasn't rechargeable.

You can put rechargable eneloop batteries in the little chroma. No other rechargables I have tried actually fit though. I reckon Eneloop are the best anyway.

Sorry. I own a little chroma but my answer about it's power isn't simple. It's never over the top powerful. It doesn't numb or itch my privates with power. It just feels like the *right* vibration. And it's nice and smooth and hard so it's perfect if you want a little bit of pressure. I've tried vibrators of a similar power that don't work as well as this one. So comparing it to something else is honestly quite useless. I think it's all down to frequency. I feel like I have the most fussy clitoris on the planet. The only other one that can reliably get me off is my (30% extra power) eroscillator with the marshmallow head, but since it oscillates it is obviously a completely different sensation. Plus I'd put the eroscillator at the beginning of the over the top powerful category.

I know what it's like trying to buy something without actually touching it. I also know your pain in trying to find high end stores. I hope you have found a great store to try the strength out.

I had the same problem, theres a few stores closer to me but I dont drive so they might as well be worlds away. This caused alot of hesitation for me in getting one or not because i wanted to hold one in real life. I was so not not let down when i made the leap and bought one online.

dont bother trying to fond out how the vibration is compared to other vibes in terms of intensity because its a very different kind of vibration and has a different kind of intensity all its own.

I've performed a little experiment and I have some conclusions, with the caveat that the intensity of the Little Chroma highly depends on the freshness of the battery. I'm using a pretty new one but it's not 100% fresh. When compared with a Lelo Lily, the Little Chroma is far more powerful than any setting on the Lily, and its frequency (how quickly it vibrates, the difference between a "thumpy" and a "buzzy" vibe) is lower (less buzzy). When compared with a Lelo Siri, the Little Chroma loses out in power and its frequency is higher, meaning it is more buzzy than Siri. Personally, I prefer a lower frequency of vibrations, so Siri is perfect for me, Little Chroma is fine but not ideal, and Lily just doesn't work. Overall, it's somewhere between the Siri and the Lily in terms of power and frequency. I hope this helps someone!

I have the Little Steel, and it is my go-to toy. The vibrations are strongest when using the recommended battery, the Eneloop rechargeable, and while there are stronger vibrators, I find the pitch of these particular vibrations to be absolutely perfect. The only thing that feels similar to me is the Eroscillator, and I like the Little Steel better.
