Jopen Intensity Knock Off ?

Oriental husband and wife Oriental husband and wife
We purchased a Jopen Intensity off Amazon about a year ago before we discovered Eden. I notice the specs here say 4 batteries. Our only uses 3. Do we have a knock off? It does not work well at all. After the first few uses it seems to stop and go off if tilted or pumped up. It also was under $200.00. Needless to say Amazon does not refund sex toys. The box and instructions look the same as on Eden.

Have you tried holding it up to the real size picture on Eden? That might help. Did it come in the same packaging? That's often a big teller. It might be an old version, though.

It sure sounded like a knock off -- here's the specification from Jopen stating that the Intensity uses 4 AAA batteries.

I don't believe there's an older version -- even the reviews as far back as January 2012 mentioned that the Intensity uses 4 AAA batteries.

Crap. Well, in that case it's a knock off.

Yup! And that's why I always try to look up information from the manufacturers' sites before buying toys...to play it safe!

This is exactly the type of situation that I hope to avoid by shopping at Eden. If I ever have a problem with anything, customer service (Antoneo) has been wonderful in addressing it! That said...

You CAN get your money back for a knock off! Amazon DOES refund or replace faulty items, even sex toys! They just don't accept returns, get it? I have seen so many people give up because Amazon lets them misinterpret that no returns stuff. When you buy something, you have the reasonable expectation that it will work, not that you like it, just that it works. If you received something broken, you contact the seller through the Amazon system and if they don't make it right, Amazon will.

Since you were sold a knock off unknowingly, this is a big problem for Amazon's reputation! It might have been a while, but legally, you have from the time you were first made aware of the problem to seek satisfaction. If you used a credit card, you can have that backing you as well, if need be. I highly suggest you go to your Amazon orders page and go through there to contact Amazon (NOT the shady vendor - assuming it's not them), stating what you have just discovered! See what they suggest. Tell them you checked with Jopen when things went haywire and you compared the specs and there are no older versions, etc.

If they give you any lip, you get tough with them saying you are going to expose them for knowingly keeping quiet about and refusing to do anything to rectify the fact that they sold a knock off Jopen Intensity! Then tell them you are contacting Jopen about it too! However, I don't think you will have any problem, Amazon and any vendors I've worked with there have been prompt to remedy any situation. Please let us know what happens!

I've actually experienced something kind of similar. I was sent an open box toy on Amazon, and the seller refused to do anything. I contacted Amazon about it, and they not only made the seller return the toy, but apparently got him so worried that I'm getting a cheap freebie as well! They do take care of their own. Cheap knock offs probably worry them more than open box toys, though!

Thanks to everyone that replied. We'll go back to Amazon. We'll made a lot or purchases there. Wish us luck. Boy, we were wondering why it had so many great reviews and ours was so bad.

I have gone back and forth with emails with the retailer. At first they pretty much told me I was out of luck due to the length of time.

I explained we left it in the drawer since it would not work . I told them it must be a knock off since 4 batteries could not go in. Of course they thought I was crazy. I then sent them pictures of how 4 batteries can not possibly fit inside. After 2 weeks of exchanging emails they said they would send us a new unit.

If I receive a replacement unit I will post it here. I informed them I was an Eden Fantasy Community member and would post our experience here. If they come through I will be glad to give them a shout out. If not then I will disclose the name of the retailer. I think that is fair.

Thanks for the update! I can't wait to "see" what you get this time! At least if it's an original and you don't like it, you can sell it to recoup some of your money!

We'll happy to announce Amazon gave us a credit after the retailer told us we were past the defective return policy time period. To make a long story short after quite a few exchanged emails and sending the retailer a picture of how no way 4 batteries could fit they sent us a replacement. We're please to announce that the Amazon retailer, Look here First, took care of us.

The new unit is a little darker pink, better quality electrode plates and low and behold, holds four batteries. We've yet to use it but happy to get a replacement. Will use it this weekend and hopefully it will give the same great reviews we have been reading.

I don't know about selling toys. Do or will people actually buy them ? We have a Cone that we will never use. Lots of hype on the Cone but no fireworks like we hoped.

I'm sorry it was such a time consuming pain in the ass, but in the end you won, yeah! Boy, bet that retailer won't be selling on Amazon, or will be under tight watch, lol! Seems foolish of them to screw over their reputation with Amazon, very foolish.

Anyway, for selling, the classifieds section of Eden is a good place to sell or swap toys. But beware doing business with someone you don't know of from here because if you get burned, there is no recourse. I'm sending you a PM with my other idea!

I just found out from reading Holly Wood's comment in the following thread that Amazon is being sued for selling this knock offs!

link

In case the thread is removed because it mentions a competitor, here's what she posted:

"Not promoting any site, but just a suggestion based on your post - AVOID AMAZON AT ALL COST for adult toys. NUMEROUS toy manufacturers are currently suing Amazon because all of the cheap toys (pretty much too-good-to-be-true prices) are because they're COUNTERFEIT or KNOCK-OFF. They show pix of the real product and what you get is NOT anything the manufacturer produced, or is a copy of the item that isn't made from the same material, etc. ESPECIALLY the higher end products. The prices on most regular adult toys sites is already less than double wholesale - so that should tell you how far BELOW WHOLESALE and COMPLETELY WRONG those Amazon prices are. You're NOT getting the real thing at that price. Those people giving great reviews have obviously never had the toy previously and don't know the REAL feel or function they should have."

Thanks for the tip Holly Wood!

I'm glad that this all got sorted out! I admit, I have bought things on Amazon, but I'm always really careful and picky... and never end up saving that much money. Now that I'm advanced here, I'd just rather buy out and use my 15% in points to get a similar discount but at least be buying from a place where I know I'm getting the real thing. It's about 40% if you combine buy outs with points on EF, which is a killer deal!

I have an original prototype of the Jopen Intensity from before it's first release (sent to me by the manufacturer) and even that one requires the use of 4 AAA batteries.

While that's the general consensus above, I figured you should know that since mine was never a technical release (mine still had the original formation of the slightly rough silicone edges around the metal contact pads, as well, since it wasn't the release product.

I can take photos of it if you'd like.
