That whether or not he's comfortable with it his partner has a right to explore their sexuality, that there is nothing to be intimidated by or feel insecure about (it's just silicone, glass, metal etc), that it's not a replacement for him (I'm sure he jerks off, maybe the partner is tired of their hand, which also isn't a replacement for him), and that if he has issues with it that's something he needs to consider/re-think and has nothing to do with his partner.

Sex toys are a fantastic way for those who are curious to explore their sexuality/selves, likes & dislikes etc, in a way that's safe & doesn't have any negative side effects (unless you're using jelly toys of course).

my man feels more comfortable when he's tied up. he says that not having control over what happens to him makes it easier to accept whatever i feel like doing to him

That myth is BS- I haven't met a guy alive that knows about my toys that isn't turned on by it. Most of my exbfs wanted to be able to watch.

I'm a man, and it was me who introduced my wife to sex toys. It's also me who does all the research and makes the suggestions and purchasing. I've bought her quite a few toys that she didn't know about until I put it in her hand.
I enjoy watching my wife masturbate with toys, but more importantly, I want her to enjoy the pleasure sex toys can bring her whether I'm in the room or not.
Please oh please, don't lump all guys into the "scared of toys" column.

I was the one who brought them into our lives. Love using them and watching her enjoy them. Also a vibrator can be real sensitive to and man too on certain areas

My husband gets really excited watching me play with my toys... Then he offers to lend a helping hand and before you know it, its just him and no toys.

It's been said above, but the "seriously, man, toys aren't going to/can't replace you" thing can't be emphasized enough. From what I understand, that--and often some sexually conservative viewpoints--is one of the most frequent reasons for some men feeling uncomfortable with sex toys.

And of course, an open and honest conversation with him will help a lot. Maybe he's not worried about being replaced but there's something else that might bother him about it. Asking him is the only way to find out and you'll probably have an answer ready to sooth whatever reservations he may have.

Men can be intimidated if you seem more interested in the toy than them. We have big egos that need proper care and feeding. Make us feel special and we are putty in your hands.
