Mimi vs. We-Vibe Tango/Salsa

Contributor: chicken12 chicken12 11/09/2011

I know that there is a similar topic on this, but I wanted to:
1. Narrow down the choices.
2. Emphasize the importance of deep/rumbly vibrations in the context of vibrator selection.

I'm looking at Mimi and one of the We-Vibe toys (they share the same motor, so I combined them).

I'm looking for which toy to choose BASED on how rumbly/deep the vibrations are. To clarify what "deep" means, it would be the opposite of "buzzy." If an iconic bullet (or any similar bullet) was a '1' on a scale from 1-5 of deep vibrations, what would a Mimi be? What would a we-vibe be?

I like the toys more or less equally on everything else, in terms of controls/material/nois e level/etc. Right now, I just can't about the types of vibrations.

I like both, but Mimi is my "go to" vibe.

Mimi would be a 5. Salsa/Tango would be a 4-4.5. Mimi is rumblier, but not by a lot. Mimi is my everyday go to. Salsa I use less, but still often. Both are very strong, the Salsa/Tango again slightly less so than Mimi but not by a lot.

They're both awesome vibrators and ultimately I would say you should end up getting both of them! I would recommend getting the Mimi over the Salsa/Tango if you had to pick only one. I have the Salsa and the Mimi and plan on getting the Tango as well for the different tip.

If I had the money and the space to get both, I totally would, but until then, I must be extremely picky in my choice.

I also have both the MiMi and Tango. It all depends on what you want. The Tango has more pinpoint vibrations, and the MiMi covers more area, but they both have beautiful, deep vibrations.

If someone made me pick one, I'd keep my Mimi over my Salsa. I'd be really sad about it!! I love them both. Mimi is my favorite out of the two, so that's what I'd go with. You can always save up points.

It's interesting that you say that, because Tuesday (the other reviewer I follow) says the We-vibe is slightly more rumbly than the Salsa?

When I was watching a video review, the sounds from the Mimi seemed a bit buzzy-ish (bear in mind, though, that I don't have much experience).

I noticed that in your review, you rated the Mimi as 3 bees. Although that's not the focus of this thread (rumbliness is), how much louder would you say the Mimi is over the Salsa? I'm not concerned about anyone in the room hearing as much as I am about passers-by hearing.

The We Vibe II or the We Vibe Touch is rumblier than the Salsa?

I don't think either of them are "buzzy" at all. I'd just say the Salsa is a little less rumbly, but still rumbly. It's still not buzzy. No matter what, they all vibrate so they'll make a bit of a buzzz sound. None of them will go "rumblerumble" like a motor of a car or anything.

Hmm...lemme go see. I don't pay too much attention to that usually. So long as it doesn't wake my son up, I'm happy! Give me a minute and I'll let you know.

I've used neither, but heard good -and- bad things, both, about all three. :/

Salsa is louder than Mimi. If I put them both on high at the same time, the noise of the Salsa goes over the noise of Mimi. If I put either one under the covers, they are muffled but still audible. The Salsa is also plastic, so if it accidentally hits ANYTHING it will make a ruckus. Since Mimi is silicone, it will still be louder if it hits something but it won't suddenly be, like, audible to the next room over loud.

If I rated the Mimi higher in bees than the Salsa, it might have been because Mimi was one of my first lengthier reviews and I was still getting the hang of the system. X.x I'd say the Mimi is a little less than my cell phone and the Salsa right at what my cell phone is. So I guess that would put them both at two bees. You can't hear either of them through a closed door. I think you're safe that anyone just walking by won't be able to hear either one. My husband is in the front and I just went in the room to test them and I didn't get a "why are your vibrators on" shout, which means he didn't hear them.

badk1tty - what are the good and bad things you've heard about them?

Sorry, I meant the we-vibes Salsa/Tango vs the Mimi. I have no idea what happened when I was writing that, lol.

Thank you for your informative posts. They touch upon and answer the (paranoid) concerns that I have.

I am so indecisive.

When I was holding them both the Mimi still felt more rumbly. They're close enough where I can see why some people will say one and some the other.

I'm indecisive, too. It's so hard to pick with so many amazing things to choose from!

I can't tell you how much I use the comparison feature on here. Without it (and the "refine by" search feature), I'd probably go nuts.

My mimi is new, I've only used it twice, but it seems to me that tango's vibrations are deeper. I love the mimi but it is harder to clean, it is the most lint collecting of any toy i have. Last night i felt i needed to get up and wash it again before i used it and i just laid it on the bedspread for a few minuets. Tango is plastic and feels cleaner. I always wash everything. At the moment if I had to pick just one I'm not sure which I'd get. Does anyone elses salsa/tango ever stop working? Mine does. That's the reason I ordered mimi. my tango would be perfect if it ran longer between charges.

I like my Tango, but for me they feel very nearly the same and MiMi is just more comfortable to use.

The Tango's head is nice if you want something more directed - but since they can both do it for me, I would pick MiMi.

Tango is like... the tiniest bit "deeper". But not so much that I'd consider it a factor - but your own sensitivity may vary.
