My little paul wont turn off :(

I just got my little paul today.
Has anyone had problems with the functions of this toy? When I put the batteries in, it was already on, despite not me pushing any buttons. I tried to press the minus button until it switched off, but it wouldn't go.
Can somebody help me please?

Is the battery cap on the right way?

Nevermind everybody! I realized I wasn't holding it down for the right amount of time. Silly me..

Hi! I just got mine today, and it happens the same to me.. I have no clue of what's wrong.. for how long do i have to hold the - button?
