My roommate has always loved browsing my collection and having sword fights with my dildos. Lately she has been saying she would like to try a vibrator. She doesn't know what type of stimulation she prefers yet. I just wanted to get her something of great quality and strength.

Of the two options, I might recommend the Salsa just because I think it is better to start out with simpler shapes and learn what you like.

Honestly, though, if you are already heading up into those price ranges, I'd recommend going $10 more and investing in a Lelo (Liv and Gigi would both be beautiful first toys). The Liv was my first quality vibe and it is still one of my absolute favorites.

I would think for a first toy having freedom of movement over being tied to a plug would be better. Those are both great toys though.

I don't own the Salsa but I have the Couture Inspire and adore it. It's amazing for clitoral stimulation and if you get the pink one, it comes with the attachments that can be used internally. It has power from really low to really, freakishly high. As long as she doesn't mind plugging the toy in, I'd recommend it.

The Inspire is stronger than the Salsa, but the Salsa isn't tethered to a wall when in use (plus it's waterproof).

I don't own either but I wouldn't want to be stuck to the wall. Introduce her to the site let her make an account to earn points but still get her a vibe if you wanted. It will let her explore her wants and needs on her own without having to share every detail with you on what she is into. I think it is nice that you are getting her, her very first toy that is actually awesome of you

I invited her and also explained the points program but she works 3 jobs. She fears she wont have time to do it and would rather just buy her own items. This is a gift from me but I am hoping it will allow her to get to know her body. She doesnt like it...it will help her figure out what she does like. She has already said f she doesnt enjoy it she will give it to me but I own both so maybe it will be a back up LOL.

I would recommend more versatile toys for first ones - and definately one that has "unlimited" speed settings. I find that setting the speed just right is waaay better than chooseing the speed closest to what I want.
