I've tried a few cock rings in the past (both with and without a vibrator attached) and I've always found them to get in the way of intimacy.

If there's any serious bumping and grinding (is there any other way?), then these things can hurt one or both partners. I've only found them to be OK during something a little more 'tantric' (e.g. we're both ready to pass out from exhaustion, but let's keep going anyway).

I'm just an average guy, so the sword goes in to the hilt (better clitoral stimulation that way, anyway). So, a lump of plastic slammed into her labia just doesn't work for us (unless she's really into pain).

Any different experiences? Am I missing the point of these things?

Ya, that can and will happen. My wife likes it better when we go slow with the vibe pressed against her. When things get heavy I just turn it around so that the vibe is under my boys and out of the way. This gives me more stimulation and pushes the balls forward. We don't really have this problem. I guess he has to be gentle because I'm tight down there and it hurts if he's too rough. Also, he cums way too quickly when he goes hard and fast, for the aforementioned reason. We love cock rings, especially our new Mio.
