Yep, it's real wood. If made and sealed properly, wooden toys are perfectly safe to use, and supposedly feel very nice. I've never tried one myself, but someday I'd like to.

Id like to try wood and glass. the concept of both are kinda scarey and interesting all at the same time. 8)
