Would you share?

Love Buzz Love Buzz
I was just wondering how people feel about possibly sharing toys with someone other than your significant other.

Basically I've been considering 're-gifting' my expensive Roae that simply just doesn't fit my body.

It's made of high quality silicone and can be fully sterilised.
So would you give or receive a toy that someone else had used if it was made from a sterilisable material such as silicone, glass, metal etc?

I'd love to hear others opinions on the subject as I do have a number of silicone toys Id gladly give to others

As long as I can sanitize it, sure.

As long as it's a nonporous material that can be sterilized, I'd definitely take it. And I'd offer any toy, despite porous-ness, to super close friends as long as it's not an anal toy, but I'd warn them about material safety issues so that they know what they're accepting.

I'm gonna have to second both Dwtim and Darling Jen here. I've got a few things that I don't think are gonna cut it for me, and I definitely wouldn't want to see them go to waste since they're rather pricey, and I have a friend who would love to own them, so they might be getting a few new toys for Christmas, lol

Sex - the real gift that keeps on giving!

And actually, I'm already searching for a new owner for my Budding Bliss. It's just not right for me.

I wouldn't think twice about giving or recieving anything made of glass, the fact that I can boil the bejeezus out of it is very reassuring, but you can't do that with vibrators.

I was thinking of offerring my roae to my sister. Its so expensive I just hate the idea of it sitting in the bottom of my wardrobe doing nothing when she could very well love it.

Its very high quality silicone and even though boiling is obviously out am thinking a wipe down with blech and maybe even dis infect it should do the job. I just don't want her thinking - eww you are gross when I suggest giving it to her

thanks guys

Yuppers. As long as they can be sanitized I don't see a problem with it at all. It's safe.

I wouldn't be comfortable with it, thinking about another persons private parts while I am using wold make it difficult.

I would, as long as its silicone/glass/steel etc. I have given some non insertable toys to friends and I have given some insertable toys to a relative which were made of silicone and that I had boiled twice before giving it to that person. I even recommended she boil them once more. It can't do any harm.

If I don't like it I rather just throw it away. It's pretty unsanitary to give someone else a sex toy that you have used. Even if it could be totally sanitized I would not give or take any used sex toys.

If a non-porous toy can be cleaned well, then I would definitely think about it.
Personally, I'd rather a toy from a friend than a family member. I think I'd be thinking about the family member having a go at it while I was trying to enjoy it - that would turn me off.
But if it was originally a female friends toy, I wouldn't have an issue.

I would be comfortable giving them away (after sterilizing them of course) but not so much for receiving previously owned ones. It would remind me of them every time I went to use it, which could ruin it for me in the end. Lol.

yep, as long as it can be sterilized. Anything that's porous at all is a definite no, but if it's non porous and I can sterilize it I definitely see no issue with passing things on to a close friend.

I have given toys away after s sterilizing them (glass and silicone only). I have also borrowed toys from a friend to try but I serialize them before using.

As long as a product can be fully sterilized, why not? Some toys are too expensive to just toss out!

If you can sterilize it, go ahead and give it away! What a shame to spend money on something and then not use it.

I have traded sanitized toys online several times. It's an honor system transaction and has always workout well.

I'm not a germ-o-phobe. Our bodies are covered with billions of microbes - many beneficial and the rest handled quite well by our immune systems. Prudence and a little alcohol or clorox is all that is needed to assure safety.

I have given away/sold/traded toys I didn't like/use anymore, so yeah.

I voted for four of these answers. One, I'd definitely consider giving my toys away. Two, I'd consider accepting used toys. Three, I've given away toys, and Four, I've taken used toys!

I'm probably the biggest prude on Eden, and yet I'm the "bad influence" among my friends, just for telling a few off color jokes. So I can't imagine even approaching the subject with anyone in my life, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with sharing sterilized toys if the relationship is conducive to it. Wasting an expensive toy would be a shame, after all.

I'm fine as long as the toy can be completely sterilized. If I were giving it to someone else, I would also make sure they understood it was used.

Nah I wouldn't share. To many diseases out there to trust someone to be safe. For all you know your buddy will shove your toy into some aids infested hooker, not clean it and return it to you 1 hour later.

Interesting point - many of us responded to this as a 'gifting' question more than sharing. I agree, I would gift something - but not pass it back-and-forth, i.e. sharing.

I have no problem getting a used toy as a gift or giving one of my used toys as a gift, only if the material can be sterilized though.

Its nice to see that Im not the only one thinking about it. Some toys just dont suit me and I don't want to waste the money spent on them, nor do I want them adding to landfill. Im going to go through all the silicone and glass toys I haven't used for a while and find new homes for them. I usually find that I only really use approx 10 of my favourite toys and would much rather someone else enjoyed them than having them gathering dust.

I would do this but I really think I would have to know the person if I were to share a toy or donate a toy to them or vice versa.

It depends on the other person in question, really. I gave my Double Dare 4Play away to a friend of mine after I used it, maybe twice. She was aware that I did use it and reviewed it, and also the material, etc.

I think if you know the person well enough and you are both OK with it then there shouldn't be any issues. I also gave my serenity away, but that is silicone and can be sterilized.

Sharing is caring, ya know!

Although I must say (sorry im kind of doing a double standard here) I would be much more picky to take a toy from someone than to give one away. LOL
