The fuel delivery guy came to the door and told me to tell my dad something---I was tempted to say Oh I will tell my daddy- but I was good! (He is 23 years older than me) I think I would have been in for a spanking if I did that! Guy starts apologizing and then changes the subject. I think it is kind of sexy!

With my ex it would happen way more often. We had an age difference of 18 years. With my current boyfriend it doesn't happen. We are only 10 years apart though.

I have the opposite problem: people mistake my father and me for a couple. I don't look anything like him (I look like my mother's side of the family), but it's still disconcerting.

Oh geez... apparently, I look a lot younger than I am. I used to have a boyfriend who looked older than he was. Weren't actually that far apart in age. Just three years. So, we never really thought about it.

Until we took a vacation out of the country. Maybe the customs officer was just kind of bored that day, but we got pulled aside and all our information and passports were gone over with a fine toothed comb. He kept asking a lot of questions that seemed odd at the time. He seemed really reluctant to admit everything was in order. We were confused as hell.

Eventually, it dawned on me, the customs officer thought I was under aged and my boyfriend was some older man trying to abscond with me out of the country!

The most memorable time this has happened is when we went to the dentist and her hygienist asked if I was her father. My girlfriend answered, "No" and the hygienist did not speak at all after that!

Lol oh dear.

I've never had this happen with me, but I meet with my teacher regularly after he was laid off. He's about forty years my senior, and people give us odd looks every time we meet at a restaurant to talk about art and psychology. I love the man to death, but I couldn't see myself with him that way, and I don't think he could see me with him either lol.

My hubby and I are only a year apart. My ex husband and I were only four years apart. It was a problem when we were younger, because of the age/consent laws...but didn't have any issues as we got older.

This does not happen to me but we are about 15 years apart. We live in a small town and most people know we are together so its not an issue for us really. Some people may say it joking around but never a serious question.
