Cheryl: I'M HIS WIFE...

A few times people have thought my husband was my father. (He looks nothing like my father, and my father is a LOT older than he is.) At first, I am flattered, and then he gets upset that someone thought he was "so old."

*sigh*

It doesn't happen often. Oddly, my oldest daughter looks a lot like me (but younger of course) and a few times people have thought they were "together." It totally creeped my husband out.

I need the "other" category! My life partner and I are 15 years apart but we have a toddler and neither of us looks our age. When Monkey calls me 'Mommy' and him 'Daddy' people just assume we are married since I wear a very flashy ring on my finger. It really gets complicated and amusing when Sigel, Arch and I have the kids with us in public...

I've never had this happen with my boyfriend as we are only 3 years apart, but I have young parents and my dad has always looked really young for his age (yay for good genetics) I have on multiple occasions as I got older been called my dad's wife when out and about with him, people get really embarrassed when he corrected them 'no, that's my teenage daughter'

This hasn't happened to me, but people have asked my father about his girlfriend--meaning me.

No. My bf is 11 years older, but I don't think we look unusually far apart in age.

We're 12 years apart, but we've never had this. Though most people think I look 1-4 years older than I am and we don't look very similar. Some people think he looks older than he is, some younger. Lots of PDA as well usually, lol.

With my hubby this doesn't happen much but when he doesn't shave a while, we will get those such comments. I used to get those comments all the time when I would go out with my ex. I won't date over 15 years older than I, and I don't mind the comments..they make me laugh.

Nope. The biggest age gap I've had with a bf was 13 years and he looked young for his age so no one ever said anything.

Maybe not daughter, but people definately think I'm his "sister"(argh misgendering..) since I look 12 if I don't do full on drag.

I was recently dating a woman who was 9 years older than me. biggest age gap I've experience but not big enough for someone to think I was her kiddo.

My boyfriend and I are 11 years apart. No one has said anything to us but I can see them looking at us like they are thinking about it lol. I find it to be funny.

I usually seem to date older men and it's happened a time or two!!! I try to teach them not to jump into a judgement though. I find it funny!
