No, seriously. I've asked my friends whether this happens to them, and I have gotten bewildered looks back.

Every once in a while, my penis will crack the same as a knuckle or neck can. When it happens, it does so at the base of the penis when it is pushed downward. For me, it feels like a combination of a joint cracking and hitting your funny bone. Suffice it to say, it's a really strange sensation.

There is a suspensory ligament that helps to hold the penis up against the pubic bone. Since there is obviously no joint associated with the penis, perhaps you are describing some sort of damage to this ligament.

Have had this happen with my Husband and previous partners too. Usually when the thrusting is going steady and fast but they accidentally pop out of me for a moment and then hit my pubic bone instead of gliding back in.

I've had that happen. I scarcely noticed, but my boyfriend said he hit my pubic bone hard enough to hurt the tip of his penis a little. He stopped and asked if I was okay, to which I gave a bewildered, "Huh?!" I was bruised later but again, didn't even notice when it happened.

There didn't seem to be any popping sound or sensation, I made sure to ask when he brought it up later. It's sometimes referred to as "breaking one's dick," and can result in penile bruising and the inability to use it for sex for a couple weeks to a month.

I put down yes but what I've experience is more like a cramp though not as painful. I think it happens once in a while when I flex my pc. Not sure though. It's never happens during sex though.

I truly appreciate the concerns many of you have posted here about this. I don't have any performance-related issues associated with it, and it's not like it is the only part of my body that cracks where there is no joint (I can pop my nose and sternum at will). Since it occurs so rarely (it's probably been a year or so since the last time), I'm not overly concerned about it.

That is a fairly common thing actually though usually not in the same degree as you report! It is a release of blood and a reaction of the same suspensory ligament that Kindred talks about. Generally it's nothing to worry about but I would mention it to my doctor if it happens frequently. Be very careful during vigorous sex not to bend the erect penis as it can actually 'break' which usually requires surgery to correct and is VERY painful. Watch for any unusual swellings (pun not intended) at the base of the penis or along the shaft. If you ever suffer pain or anything unusual (for you) then talk to a Dr. Otherwise enjoy your uniqueness.

Ouch and Holy Hell.

I know once, The Husband's 'cracked' and was bruised to hell and back. It made a full recovery, but it looked rough there for a while.

Your penis can become damaged in a few ways, one of which is where the tubes that inflate or deflate with blood pop or break (either corpus cavernosum or spongiosum). Can be bad as if there is a pop and then significant discoloration there might be a break where blood is filling the tissue from the tubes meant to operate your erection...You can tear also, which might make a noise, but can lead to a sort of peonies curve to the penis due to scar tissue.
