Prostate Exam?

Contributor: Kaltir Kaltir
I hear from a lot of men that they won't go in for a prostate exam no matter the risk. How many men here have been? How do you cope with it?

I think I still have a few years left in me before I would need one. No worries for me, as I am big fan of pleasuring myself anally...hope I don't get a hard-on when I get one....blush I have heard that is pretty common.

Come on guys! There is nothing to it; takes only 15 seconds. Just a finger up your ass. If you let your wife or girlfriend do it to you in sexual play why not your Doctor. No big deal. Be on the safe side and you will live a long time. Imagine how many sunsets you will see in your life. It's never too young to start either; a simple blood test in the form of a PSA together with a prostate exam is usually done.

I have been in numerous clinical trials for ED and BPH in which part of the exams include prostate exams. Also had many as part of yearly exams, and they really are not that big of deal. As far as having an erection during the exam, it has never happened to me.

It's not the funnest exam ever whether your doc is a male or female it doesn't matter. But in the end, the 2 seconds of embarrassment is better than a bad diagnosis later.

Long story short, I had one in my twenties, and it was not nearly as bad as I thought. Just relaxed and it was fine.

The doctor was vigorously shoving his finger up my butt, he was saying "do not resist or else there maybe trauma." I was so happy i had already done anal play so many times. I would definitely recommend to say something if there is any pain with insertion. And no i didn't get an erection, if it were a female doctor that looked good, well that might have been a different story...

Have had them annually for at least 15 years or more. No big deal and there's nothing remotely erotic about it whether it's a male or female doctor (my doctor is male, but have also have the exam by a female PA). A few seconds of mild discomfort.

As someone already noted, which is worse, potential embarrassment or missing early warning signs of a potentially serious problem? I've known a few men who've had prostate cancer and believe me, treatment is no picnic.

My medical doc hasn't brought it up yet, but I'm not concerned about it when the time comes for it. Heck, I'll probably have to restrain myself from seeming too eager - LOL!

Thanks for the great insight guys! I read this comments to my sweetie so he'll know it isn't so bad when it's his time to go. I agree, a few seconds of discomfort is DEFINITELY worth it, since it can save your life! Think of all the people who love you and need you in their lives.
