dental dams??

A dental dam is basically a small sheet of latex which acts as a barrier between the vagina or anus and the mouth. Due to the possible infectious secretions from both the vagina and anus, the dental dam is becoming a more popular safer sex tool.

Does anyone actually use them though? Personally, I've never encountered anyone who suggested it, and I have several non-monogamous friends who don't even bother with them. Not that I'm supporting people having such a cavalier attitude toward safety, I've just never gotten the impression that they're widely used.

I used one one time with an ex, more out of morbid curiosity than safety concern. Neither of us much cared for it nor was much achieved, we were too busy laughing.

I've used them before with my partner for anal rimming, and I would definitely use them more for oral sex and such if I were not in a monogamous relationship. When I took my last sexual health class, though, I was the only one there who knew what they were. It makes me sad, actually, because I think they should be more widely sold, educated about, and used.

I've never seen one in real life...sex educators talk about them but you can't find them anywhere. Well anywhere convenient that is.

I have like 3 of them and I've never used it!
