Do you trust the Nuva ring?

Contributor: ud328 ud328
I'm wondering how many couples are using the Nuva ring and trust that it will prevent pregnancy. I'd like to hear thoughts and, more importantly, experiences from those using it.

I have not used it yet, but I'm going to make an appointment to get some after this month's period. If you look at the stats, it's right up there with BCP's in terms of effectiveness. And I believe it's safer, since the hormones are localized.

I just picked a new form of BC. After deciding it's not the time for another baby. I went with the patch. I trust my birth control solely as long as I know I'm using it properly.

I tried the Nuva ring a long while back, and I really didn't like it. I didn't like the feeling of having something in my vag 24/7. However, I'd definitely would trust it to prevent pregnancy. Unfortunately, hormonal birth control is not an option for me anymore so my husband got a vasectomy, and we're both really happy.

I think it's as trustworthy as any hormonal birth control if used right. That is, if you replace it at the right time. I would trust it alone to prevent pregnancy. I used it for a while and was very happy with it. I couldn't personally feel it.

Stacking birth control methods (i.e. a condom as well) is always a good idea if you're worried though, it can't hurt, and may help your stress levels.

Now my male SO has had a vasectomy, so no more need for hormonal birth control.

I have used it once and did not like it. I just think its weird or odd. I worry way to much to have something in me like that all the time. It just doesn't seem right to me.

I use the Nuva Ring... I want to switch to pills though. It's not that Nuva Ring is bad (I've been using it for over a year now)... it's just it's time for a change for me lol
