Bleeding after sex. O_O

Contributor: Dawn (Lilac Distraction) Dawn (Lilac Distraction)
Today was the last day of my period. I was just having some light brown spotting and all that. Boy and I had sex and afterwards, when I went to pee, there was some brighter red blood, but a considerable amount. I've never really had this happen before and we have sex pretty regularly . . .

Anyone else had this happen? It looked like my period restarted . . . but the blood stopped after that. There was none on him. I'm just a little freaked out.

I've had it happen before. Almost like a rigorous romp shook some more loose from somewhere! It's weird every time it's happened but I never get too worried about it.

Ick, I had this happen to me once too. I think LingaLoo is right on this, that some left overs got loosend from your nooky session.

I agree with the above - I've had that happen to me before.

Wouldn't hurt to check and make sure you have no tenderness/raw spots/scratches down there, though. I'm banking it's just some more spotting that got jarred loose, though.

I've too also had that happen. I was worried about it, and I did some looking around. I also asked a doctor about it. What I was told is when you have sex, or have an orgasm. It causes your uterus to vibrate/contract which helps shed the linging of the uterus. Which is what happend when your on your period, so I'm guessing when you had sex your uterus contracted/Vibrate helping to shead that last bit. My doctor told me its actually really good to have sex during your period for that reason, and to let go some stess. She told me women who have sex during their period tend to have shorter ones. Personally, I couldn't do it hahaha. My boyfriend also wouldn't do it. He said he'd rather cut his stuff off. hahaha I know over the top right?

I highy doubt anything is broken...
If you are REALLY worried about it, I would make a doctor appointment.

I experience faster bleeding after an orgasm - the cervix opens up a bit. Maybe it was the rest of the blood that would normally be removed more slowly - via spotting, giving it the darker, brownish color.

if it happens when it's not during your period, you have real cause to worry- that's never a good thing. but like miss nessa, it's just your uterus getting rid of all the extra lining

Miss Nessa's doctor makes a lot of sense. The same thing happens to me, and we usually have sex during my period. I find orgasms really help with the cramps. As they cause contractions of and then relaxation of the uterus.

As long as it isn't blood in your urine, I wouldn't worry about it. If you are urinating blood, call your doctor immediately, as it could signal a serious UTI. They are easily treatable, and the longer you wait without treatment the worse they get.

But, if it was just menstrual blood, don't worry about it.
