Im just curious and it would be interesting to see how many people actually have a high sex drive..and how many people have lost that desire for a while or completely.
Personally Ive always have had a very high sex drive but recently it has diminished due to birth control I believe.

I have always had a very high sex drive, even before I knew just what that meant. I was already crushing on boys (and some girls) at 3 and 4 yrs old and not just my own age, but grown men, lol.

The only times my sex drive has diminished a little has been due to pain/illness or medication as ShySEXXaddict mentioned. But, even when I tried antidepressants for my migraines, I still had a drive, I was just unable to orgasm! Good thing it didn't help my migraines so I could get off the medicine. I can't believe what a raw deal it is for a depressed person to feel better, want sex and then find out the pill helping them, is actually stopping them from one of reasons you want to live!

When I'm extremely nauseated or in extreme pain, I lose my sex drive, but as soon as the illness or the pain subsides enough to not be all consuming, the urge just comes right back! Even if I don't masturbate for a little while, my body takes care of it while I'm asleep - I will have orgasms while sleeping and since I'm such a light sleeper, I almost always wake up during it. (If I don't awaken during, I can tell when I do get up because of the 'evidence' shall we say.)

I have a high sex drive. The only time it's diminished is when I'm not feeling well. The reason I started using toys was because I was in between boyfriends and needed a little excitement in my life!

I've gone through periods where I've had a very high or very low sex drive, but the times when I am feeling the most mentally and emotionally healthy I think I probably have close to an average sex drive.

When I am lacking something emotionally I tend to focus more on sex I've noticed and get a high sex drive, and when I am going through health problems I tend to lose my sex drive completely.

I've been focusing a lot on self care lately and taking care of my physical and emotional needs, this seems to have caused my sex drive to even out.

ya seriously from the time I was 25 to now besides late in my pregnancy my sex drive has always been high..thinking sexual thoughts alday everyday,masturbating everyday and getting as much sex as i could. My boyfriend of a year and a half has just recently asked me if i wasnt attracted to him anymore as i barely touch him let alone ask for sex..then i got to thinking what the hell has happened to me! I barely ever think about,I never masterbate and i dont want sex! Thats when i realized that not only has the birth control i WAS on screw with my hormones and body completely but it has also tooken my sex drive away completely! This is the only medicine i have ever been on(antidepressants and all) that has ever done this and i pray my body and sex life go back to normal very soon! birthcontrol

I have always had a high sex drive and love all kinds of toys, dirty talk, kinky, etc. I will be 51 on November 29.

As a representative of the "older generation" here, my case is a bit variable! As a teenager I was a very precocious individual when it came to sex, I was permanently horny, this carried on with a brief hiatus in my twenties while I went through my divorce. Then I met Phil, my appetite returned with a vengeance & stayed that way until I started the menopause some 6 years ago. I lost my appetite badly but the combination of hot flushes & headaches made me try Hormone Replacement Therapy and my libido not only returned, it is now as voracious as it was when I was in my late teens!!

My sex drive is the highest its ever been, I will be 30 this year. It has gone up and down due to birth control, pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc. But now that I'm done having kids and have a IUD without hormones I'm always ready!

I have definitely had some lows, especially when my kids were very, very young. My husband and I have some sexual compatibility issues so that has cause me to lose it at times as well. But I have a very high drive.

i've always had a really high sex drive. i have depression and there have been times when that caused me to have a lower sex drive, but i think that when that happened it just brought it down to a "normal" level lol

I had a problem with my drive so my Dr. checked my testosterone and it was on the side of normal to low. He then prescribed me a shot of testosterone once every three weeks which my wife or he administers. Now my drive is through the roof. I'm going on 40 this year and I feeling like I did after puberty. My wife cant keep up. lol

I've lost my sex drive after it was revived several times throughout my life. after many years of NO sexual desire, there are some specific reasons for this which I won't go into right now, I am happy to say YAHOO! it's back since last year spring. YAHOO!!!

I'm younger than 20 buuut I'd say my sex drive is kinda low. I think about sexual things very very often but I never actually do anything sexual most of the time (though sometimes its a bit higher than usual). Sex drive gets even lower if it's actual sex rather than masturbation. Having another person involved can stress me out sometimes.
